We are going in November as my stepdaughter works retail and it will be difficult to take a week off after Thanksgiving. I was considering going in October for Halloween but Christmas party won out.

Wondering if there is any chance of other parks having decorations? I see resorts are going to be probably closer to Thanksgiving but..

I suppose i could do the Minnie Christmas dinner at HV.

Anyone been there during that time?

Animal Kingdom should have decorations started if not fully up. Hollywood Studios should have their decor started as well. Some resorts will be decorated and others will be in process. The order of the resorts is by random draw each year so there is no way to know which ones may be decorated on which days of your stay. Epcot will not have their decorations out however.

AK, yes. HS, yes. Epcot, some but not all. Resorts, no.

AK and HS don't decorate nearly as much as MK does, and most of the MK decorations seem to be confined to Main Street and the castle hub.

anyone know what to expect as far as decorations in HS? I have never been but I understand it was all about the Osborne lights.

There will be a big tree. Usually outside the gates. And some window dressing and garlands on the main street. Maybe some of the restaurants will have their own trees. And music. That'll be it. Unless they change something up for the first year with no Osborne lights.

I haven't been at that time, but when we went for Halloween, they flipped the stores from Halloween to Christmas on October 30th. They also still had Christmas decor up at the end of January in the resorts.

We are Catholic and keep our house decorated through the whole of Advent and the Christmas season and Disney was longer than even the crazy Catholics. My guess is you will see a lot. Maybe not full fledged, but I'm sure you'll see some wreaths and trees.

actually, the gingerbread houses take about 2-3 weeks to get up and they are finished by thanksgiving.. mk will start to get it's stuff the day after halloween, probably only missing the tree which doesn't go up until after the parade for tv is filmed (and last year that was nov 15 and fully decorated including the castle stage that was temporary for the filming.. It will be done before the first MVMCP happens.

epcot will not be switched over from food and wine yet but every else should at least be started in transforming by mid november...

If you want everything holidays in disney has to offer, that starts the day after thanksgiving when epcot joins with it's holiday options...

We went the same time last year and will go again same time this year. Last year MK was decorated.....EP had tree and some lighting displays in Future World....HS had tree outside gate plus Osborne lights of course....AK had tree at gate. Contemporary had gingerbread display and some garland decorations. Grand Floridian gingerbread house was complete. We also went to Poly for lunch but nothing there yet. We woke up on the Thursday of our trip to find all decorations up at French Qtr. Disney Springs had some including a few trees and I saw sign for Santa.

We went 11/17-11/21 in 2014 and gingerbread house was up at GF, MK was decorated, Epcot was 50% decorated. HS was decorated. We stayed at WL and they decorated 2 days after we left.
