Hi guys!!

I have been looking at this board since we booked my first ever trip at DLRP in August, but just wondering if there's anything specific I should know, maybe in particular relating to Christmas events? But anything would be great!

We arrive at our hotel (Santa Fe) on late afternoon so we will head into Disneyland Park for the Evening Magic Hours :) Tuesday will be Disneyland for Early Magic Hours then Studios then Disneyland for Evening Magic Hours followed my Planet Hollywood if we feel up to it. Wednesday, we will be spending the day at the shopping mall (I believe it's called Valle de Rope.. Sorry if I haven't spelled it correctly!) and then into Paris to see the Eiffel Tower. Thursday will be a repeat of Tuesday and then home on Friday morning :)

So ANY pointers would be great please!! Thank you!!! :)

Ps.. Does the Downtown Disney area have a Goofy Candy Co (or something similar where you can create your own treats?)

Hi kittengal13,

We'll be there next week too :cool1:

There aren't any evening magic hours I'm afraid....just early. The park will shut each evening at 7pm mon-fri.

You can find the opening times for your stay here, as well as the ride closures for each day: http://www.disneylandparis.co.uk/practical-information/before-your-visit/parks-hours.html

Unless you really, really like shopping....you might not want to spend too long at the mall (Val d' Europe). The mall decorations are beautiful, and the supermarket is great, but the shops are a little pricey. Paris is definitely worth a visit though (we're aiming to go in on Wednesday), and you'd be better off spending a whole day there, and perhaps doing the mall one evening after the parks shut.

Otherwise, just dress warmly, and soak up the Christmas atmosphere in the parks....it's unbeatable!

Have a fantastic time :goodvibes

Hi,
Sorry no, there is no Goofy's candy co, the village has a big new world of disney store, but otherwise shops not very exciting in the village. There is a really nice boardwalk style sweet shop on mainstreet on the right as you walk towards the castle. I prefer all the shops on this side to the Emporium on the other which can get very busy and often sells out of things. There are also lovely shops in the castle and in Fantasyland. (You can get freshly made candy floss here)
Dreams will be on at 7 so will finish at 7.30, if you want to eat after then I would recommend booking. Cafe Mickey in the village is good for characters or the Hunters Grill at Sequoia Lodge does a lovely buffet which you could go to on your way back to Santa Fe, you can walk easily from there. (I would recommend calling in for a drink in the lovely cosy bar with fire even if you don't go to eat.
I would definitely do Paris and Val d'Europe the other way round. You could always get off the train at this stop on the way back from Paris if you feel up to it and have dinner there.
Enjoy the festivities :thumbsup2

Layer your clothes as the early morning hours were really cold and bitter, but afternoons were okay. Evenings were very cold and often windy.

Enjoy your trip!

Thanks everyone :goodvibes

Oh man! I obviously read the opening hours wrongly :guilty:

7pm seems awfully early... does anyone have any ideas what we can do after that? When we arrive Monday, Wednesday after a day at the parks and Thursday after the parks? We are two adults who don't drink so not really interested in bars or venturing off property.

Bit bummed about 7pm closing... seems so early :guilty:

Pop into the DLH at 6pm for the Magical Moment at the Disneyland Hotel. Also turn up at the castle at 6.45pm to see the fountain show before Dreams! starts at 7pm.

The shops along Main Street USA will be open late after Dreams! finished and the stores in Disney Village close around midnight.

When the parks close early DW and I go for a late dinner at around 8.30pm in one of the hotel restaurants or in the Disney Village. Our favourites are the California Grill at the DHL and Manhattan Restaurant Hotel New York or the Steak House in the Disney Village.

Disney village stores were open until 11 I think when we went, Hotel New York had "ice skating", you can visit the other hotels, I am sad that we missed seeing the gingerbread house in Disneyland Hotel.
