I'm a WDW veteran (from Texas) , going to DL for the first time, staying at the Grand Californian from March 9-17, as this is our kids school break week.

I've read a few threads in the archives about spring break in California, and it seems they're generally out a little later in the month. True? Will I get catch a break from the major crowds?

My plan is to do the parks on the weekdays and avoid the weekend crowds, but after that I'm a little lost. I know WDW like the back of my hand, but being a DL rookie, I'm not quite sure the best approach for DL and DCA during this period. Which park is more crowded when? Sould I do DL or DCA on monday?

Any advice to a newbie family going to California :smooth: in March would be much appreciated.

 Hello,
You will love Disneyland (the original). As for the Pacific Northwest Spring Breaks ours doesn't start until April. I always go the first weekend in March and it is smooth sailing thru the rides. I don't think you will have any crowd problem, just utilize your fast pass options. Friday and Saturday nights are always busy because of the local season tkt holders, alot of teenagers. You might want to use that time to check out the gift shops and Downtown Disney. If you go shopping at the Downtown Disney area for sweets be sure to check out Marsilines Bakery (spelling not sure). They have the best cookies around!! Have fun.

I am a teen, and I agree with dianedisney, yes on Friday and Saturday nights, there will be lots of teens! (Including me a lot of the time lol.)

I live about 15 min. away from DL, and our break is from March 29-April 7 I believe (It is Good Friday continuing through Easter week.) Most schools in the area have either this week off, or the week before Easter off. So you will probably be okay in terms of not hitting the HUGE crowds, although it should still be busier than in the middle of January and the rest of the real offseason.

DL is very crowded on Saturdays, but DCA is hardly ever crowded. If your plans change and you want to go on a weekend day, Sunday mornings at DL are one of my favorite times to go because there are so few people there!

If you have any more questions let me know!
