Solo is great!
I will mention that I was single for a LONG time, and got very used to doing things alone. I don't hesitate to bring a book or notebook to a restaurant. I talk to people if I want to, I don't if I don't. Most people who talk to you and find out that you're alone will be impressed and jealous. The CMs will be especially impressed, though that was mainly with my husband, who had "sent me" on my solo trip, LOL. (I was near collapse after a family "vacation" in December of '07 so I got a weekend solo trip in January)
I love going where
I want to go, eating when
I want to eat, and really importantly, eating what
I want to eat. Hubby and son have food restrictions that I don't, and when I'm with them I generally follow their lead, but on a solo day I can have the forbidden...a soda if I want it, a Mickey bar if I want it (they are so good...if only they'd get rid of the corn syrup in the ice cream part of it...hubby and son could share one!), etc.
Single rider lines are great. Splash, Screamin' (especially Screamin'), TSMM (though they had that SR line closed on my last solo day), Soarin' (I normally don't feel singled out when solo, but that line gets you some weird looks), Grizzly (I've never ridden when the SR line is open though, and even if you're with people you still share rafts with others, unless you are a party of 8). Mulholland Madness also, I think, but I've never been on that ride at all.
Taking pictures whenever. Sitting down and people-watching. Checking out rides and attractions for future family trips (did that with it's tough to be a bug!).
I love my solo trips.
