Hi everyone, we are leaving for Florida on Oct 24th 2003 to Nov 10 2003. Will this be a busy time??? I appreciate all the information we get from the veterens your knowledge of the park is invaluable.

Thanks :Pinkbounc

This will be our first fall trip too. We are going to be there at the same time as you-- only our trip is shorter. We will be there 10/30-11/7. We usually do springs and winters.

We usually go in either Sept. or Oct. too, and have found that the crowds are pretty light. We had an E night while we were there, and I swear, there must have been only about 100 people in the park!!! But, it will probably be a little more crowded this year with all the FTP people!!! Wish I was one of them! Have a good trip!

FTP refers to the current Fairy Tale Package that is being offered (seven nights for the price of four). May have a tendency to crowd the parks slightly more than the usual for as long as the package is offered.

The only good thing is that I checked and there is still a lot of availability on the FTp for the last week of October--- so keeping my fingers crossed for lighter crowds. We tend to hit the busy weeks.

We go during this timeframe every year. While the crowds are not "light", they tend to run at moderate--to busy range. While kids are in school, this is a big convention time of year. You will see bigger crowds during the Happy Haunts Ball (Oct. 27-29), lots of folks visiting EPCOT for the food and wine festival--especially in the evenings when the locals are offl, historically the super soap weekends occur during early Nov (stay away from MGM on those days), along with a golf tornument and the Festivals of the Masters at DTD. These are just the conventions I know of. I'm sure there are probably many more. Add in the folks taking advantage of the FTP and the ones that come in every year to visit MK for the MNSSHP, and this spells a lot of people. (I'v also heard there's a NJ week--I'm assuming that means the kids are out of schools and lots of folks head to WDW for a vacation?? not sure of the dates, but early Nov. comes to mind.) Not that I would want to discourage anyone, because this is a great time to go, especially in terms of the weather, but I wouldn't want anyone going thinking the crowds will be like they are the week after Thanksgiving, or September, or January (these are the lowest crowd times of the year). We will be there Oct. 23-Nov.1 staying at POR, unless we get moved.

We traditionally go in April (not Easter week- but usually close to it). So I figure it shouldn't be worse than that (fingers crossed!!!!). Our last trip was in February and that was really great-- but it seems crowds were down in general this past winter/spring.

We are taking a whole group of newbies with us, so I am hoping to take in quite a bit but without overwhelming them.

RATS my secret is out!!! Even though Oct/Nov is more popular than it was when I began going about 9 years ago at that time every year, it is still my favorite time to go! We have had WONDERFUL weather every trip (occasional thunderstorm but nothing major and last year was a bit hot) which is a huge plus to me! Last year I went in July for the first time and Oct. crowds were lighter.I am wondering how it will be this Oct. with all the things going on...FTP and Mission Space grand opening.I also found out that my son has an entire week off of school (we're in TN) mid Oct which THRILLS me to death. We can stay longer this year!

I agree that crowds are no longer light like they use to be but they are managable. No guarantee for this year though!!!:p So have I confused everybody?!?!...I think I have myself!!!

I guess what is I'm saying...we'll all just have to wait and see!!!:teeth:

Baloo
I was wondering if they decorate the park for fall/halloween in October? I want to go this october and just wondered if they decorated with pumpkins and stuff the whole month ( if at all) or if decorations were only put out for the party.

Thanks!!

Baloo, you really had me going.........lol

Thank you for the information.

I am so excited to be going back....but between you and me I could tell hubby we should go in Sept then I would be there so much sooner, but don't want the kids to miss the first month of school and my son also gets off the first week in Nov so he is only going to miss a week.

Thanks again.....
