I know that May is regular season... I might have to change the dates of my trip.. I have alot going on around here and I am not sure if we can get away in February... How busy are the parks during that time of year?

Any good budget tips for a May trip?

What fun! Your first Disney trip! It will be GREAT. OK, the first part of May is less crowded, with the crowds growing as the month wears on. Memorial Day weekend can be pretty busy. I am planning on a trip in the middle of May myself.

While I haven't done it yet, I'm going to buy an AAA membership to get 10-15% off of the room rate. I'm staying on property. I do have an annual pass (AP), but there aren't any guarantees for room discounts with that.

But not this year!!! Starting May 5, Disney will be starting it's 50th year celebration. Lots of new stuff to see and do.

Agreed! This May, the history of park attendance will be different that past years. I'll be there--see my countdown!

We'll be going in May!! We've always gone the day after our DD's get out of school - to be there during the Memorial Day holiday (extra day off work for me and DH).

We love that time of year at WDW. This year will be our first at a Deluxe resort - rented points at the Boardwalk villas!! Can't wait!!

May is my favorite time to go because of the beautiful weather and the Flower and Garden Festival at Epcot. We didn't find it crowded at all. Just on EE at AK (Monday). I hope you pick May! Enjoy!

We'll be there in May too!! We love that time of year! Have had to go in June before and it just gets more crowded and hot! We will be there over Memorial Weekend too and hoping it won't be too crowded!! We are at the point where we can't take the boys out of school anymore!!!

We will be going in May also. Do you think it will be quite abit more crowded than usual due to the Celebration?

We're there starting May28th (kids get out school 5/27 hopefully if no bad weather make up days). From reading the boards May maybe busy this year. :earseek:

the first 2 weeks of May are generally pretty slow at all of the parks, building towards the weekends. the schools have their field trips at the end of the weeks. (our daughter is going to epcot for her field trip this year :D ). the celebration is probably going to skew those numbers somewhat this year. usually, standby lines are less than 15 min. and we've seen plenty of 5's and 0's.

We'll be there in May on our honeymoon. In the past, it's been a fabulous time to visit. The weather is usually nice and the parks aren't very crowded. I'm very excited to be returning in May.

We are trying the first week of May this time around...We went over Memorial Day weekend in 2003 and found the crowds to be manageable, as long as we were creative with our planning (ie: very early lunches, then eat dinner before dinner crowds grew and saved $ by ordering off the lunch menus!! Ride the rides with less lines during peak dinner hours!!! :hyper: ) We had to use Fastpass a bit, but saved alot by waiting to ride "those" rides during E-Ride night...This was the best because as the massive crowds were exiting MK after parade, we happily went in the opposite direction and rode the big rides over and over and over! What a peaceful evening that was for us all! We had pretty hot weather, so we are trying earlier May this time...

WDW, Heeere we come!!!!! :jumping1:
