I have a little one who is 3 and a DD who is 10. I know people said the wait is less...not sure if this would be the case in late Sept. I will have the DP so I can do the package...I have to eat dinner that night anyway. I've just read mixed opinions about how the seating is not the greatest. Any advice?

We went in July and did not do the Fantasmic Package. We arrived about 45 minutes early and found excellent seats. I'd say the theater was about half full. My kids enjoyed the wait with a snack and by participating in "the wave". I definitely would not reserve package in September. By the way, we loved the show.

I agree you have to eat anyway. Do it.

We went late August, with no package. Got there about 30 minutes before hand, picked up Mickey bars from an ice cream vendor and just hung out before the show (which is one of my favorites).

We are planning to do this on our first night this year (late August). I think we don't mind the wait because it's our first night at WDW, and we're just soaking it all in (and soakin' through our clothes, but who cares!).

We went the first week of October and the theater was jambed. We showed up 35 minutes before the show and got in the FDP section with good seats. Even the standing room overflow was full. MGM itself wasn't all that crowded either. I'm glad we had the FDP.

MGM's counters leave much to be desired. So just reserve the earliest FDP seating at H and V and load up.
