We go to the world every year but usually in sept or jan. This year our dd starts school in august so all of our usual
plans have to change. We are planning the first week of June, how bad are the crowds and rain? we are from the south so we can handle most of the heat. Please give me your past experiences? Thanks

It rains alot. At least it did everytime I was there in June. I tend to bring it with me, I think. Crowds are heavy, but Fastpass makes it pretty manageable these days. Park hours are great, most shows/parades are running. I loved June. I'd go again in a minute. As for the heat, you're used to it, so it shouldn't bother you. Have a ball. :D

Early June is not bad -- much more crowded than you are used to but still not the full summer crowd that shows up about mid-June. Very hot and humid and you can get rain although it is usually a couple of 30 minute thunderstorms in the afternoon to evening. One thing to be aware of is that week is "gay" week; see their schedule at http://www.gayday.com/otherevents/..\schedule\default.asp?gi=109 If you have any concerns with that note that it is easily avoided by simply going to parks they are not scheduled for on any particular day.

i went the first week in June last year with my kids and i have been in, Feb,june, sept oct and dec,
I will never go in June again, The crowds were heavy and we couldn't get on the rides we wanted and if we did it was only once with fass pass. my kids diliked this time of the year because they were use to going other times and being able to ride pretty much anything they wanted alot.

Wow -- we've been three of the past four years, and our experience was nothing like that of mrsmom or grinninghost. It is important to say, though, that the year we were not there was last year. Early entry is an extremely important part of planning for June, and it was not available last year. We've also only had one significant rain in those three trips, but I think it may have rained a lot last year. We were there in July, and it rained EVERY DAY.

We like the first week of June as a time to go and plan to be there this year. It will be hotter and more crowded, so plan accordingly. We hit the early entry park at opening each day, then return to our resort early afternoon, usually after an air-conditioned sit-down lunch. We go back to a park in the early evening. We have a Fast Pass pretty much all the time and also take advantage of e-night. We have never waited in a line that was an hour or more long and typically will only have one or two half-hour lines during a week-long trip. Our family always carries two water bottles and one or two mister fans. We also are willing to take a break if need be. We have never had any problem doing all the attractions, including our favorites multiple times. (That was not the case last July, however -- the combination of no ee and all that rain made it very difficult.) It would be much harder to do a commando short trip -- we stay a week or slightly more.

I'm sure you probably already know that week is Gay Days. We've been there three times for this event -- the only adjustment you need to do to your schedule is to make sure you are NOT at the MK on Saturday because it will be a holiday-sized crowd.

Gotta agree with Tar Heel. I go every June, usually the first week, sometimes the second week. I also try to go in September or October. The crowds, while a hefty increase from the value season, are managable, even when compared to the third and forth week of June, when the summer-break families start piling on. We've found the rain, like most other times we go, to be a hit-or-miss shower most every days, and the chance of one extended storm while we're there. All manageable. I think late September is the time to go, but I've always enjoyed my June visits. Proper park management, meaning using FP, taking a break mid afternoon (and coming back at night), and getting the long-line rides in early, all yield a pretty nice trip. We normally see no wait more than 20 minutes.

As for Gay Days, I'll also agree with Tar Heel. I've seen this make absolutely no difference in our trip, but due to massive, massive crowds, I'd also avoid MK on Saturday. And for the record, I'd avoid PI on Friday and Saturday night. I'd also find out the days events are held at TL (two of them, I think) and avoid those due to volume.

Enjoy June. I hope I'm right, 'cause I'll be there with ya!

We went the last week of June and the First week of July last summer, and it was manageable. It had been my first visit in 10 years, so I can't commet on past visits. I know that it did rain almost every day (we were there 10 days) and it was hot. However, we are from Texas and used to heat and humidity. We stood in lines, but the longest I can remember was the barnstormer, the magic carpets, pirates of the caribbean. The lines were great to us. So many attractions were 10 to 20 minutes. We fastpassed a lot. I think that if you go in June, you won't be disappointed.

We've been twice in June. The first time was like the very first week. Very nice - not bad. Last year we were there from the 4th thru the 8th. You could almost see the place getting more crowded each day. Also hotter each day. The rain is short little showers. It's Disney!! Have fun and don't sweat the small stuff! If we go back in June it will be as close to the first as we can get it. Seems most kids are still in school. Have Fun!

It can be warm and steamy, but I have been in the first week of June and love it. Just be prepared (have ponchos and sunscreen) and you will do great.

We loved our trips in June even with the heat and a few rain showers! The parks are opened later so take advantage of that, especially with the heat. Enjoy!!

In June 2000 the crowds were insane and it didn't rain once during our entire 8 day visit. In June 2002, the crowds were manageable and it rained most days all day. Like a monsoon. :) We just put on our ponchos and had an amazing time. :)

The first week of June is a great time to go. We've been there for our sons birthday on Memorial day and stayed for the rest of the week.

I beleive that Gay days is the first wek of June. They usally go to MK the first Saturday of June. It was really no big problem. Just don't wear a Red shirt....

We are going to WDW June 6-June 14. Our 1st day at the parks will be the 7th, a Saturday. Is Saturday's the only day of the week for fireworks at MK? I know that will be busy, because of gay day. I was thinking of making PS at CP for that day, what ya'll think? I guess it all depends on fireworks. Humn.................

When we were there in 99,00,01 they had fireworks every night. I beleive each of the parks has a display each night depnding on when your going.

I have been to WDW the past 2 June's and I absolutley loved it. Sometimes it rains from 12noon to like 2 pm but then the sun comes out again. The crowds are really manageable and the weather is amazing. ContempoSMT and I are going again this June! 109 days left!

dahess,

Usually (not always) they have the fireworks and SpectroMagic on Friday and Saturday on GayDay weekend because ofthe large crowds. If you're planning to go to the MK on Saturday it is an excellent idea to have a PS. I always have one for LLT at lunch.

As GayDay is the2nd weekend after Memorial Day this year, it is a little later in the season, and the Summer schedule for Fireworks may kick-in about midway through your trip, making them during the weeknights as well.

After reading the above post about Gayday at TL, I checked their schedule. They have TL after the park closes - from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. I'm so glad because I thought there would be big, big crowds on those days (during regular hours) at all the water parks!! Shouldn't be the case now!!

We have been to WDW twice during the first week of June and it was manageable. I'm wondering if it will not be as crowded this year because of everything going on in the world.

I have been in June three times and would do it again if I had the chance. The weather is great. I LOVE hot weather so it was a plus for me. THe crowds are heavier than what you are used to, but Fast Pass really helps. Besides, if you do the parks right and take breaks during the afternoon it shouldn't be a problem. I like this time of year also because the parks are open later. I would really recommend going during June....you'll have a great time!!!

We went in early June last year. I don't think we will go in June again.
The heat was just too much for us.
We have a low tolerance for hot and humid weather.
It was alittle more crowded than we are used to. We usually go in May and Oct.
