When we go in Jan. I'm not going to plan for the most part. I may schedule dinner on the day that we'll eat it, but that's it. Last year we planned the meals, but didn't get a meal package and I think I enjoyed it more. The only thing I've planned is breakfast at CRT. So who thinks I'm nuts?

I don't think you're nuts. Seems like you know WDW enough that you can do that and still have a great time. (Unlike people who know NOTHING about WDW, don't make any plans, and expect to have a good time...then come back and say how awful it was.) Have a great trip, I'm sure you will! :D

We have one PS for the Epcot Princess Breakfast. We may not make any more. We will have a list with what parks to do on what days and that's it. So, you're not crazy.

We have a PS for The Princess Breakfast a,d 1 for Chef Mickeys and that is it. Gonna take it as it comes this trip. From what I can tell January is the time of year for this kind of trip.

Enjoy your trip Dave

We dont have an itinerary either. We are going the 22nd - 28th. Dont even have any PS made at all. Last year we went in Jan and I called from the resort for Chef Mickeys, they had openings but not the particular time we wanted so I didnt take any. We go to whatever park we feel like on that day and go with the flow. Lack of crowds allows you to be able to go without alot of planning, at least I hope so. Havent made a single PS.

We only have a PS for the Princess Breakfast so far also. Well that and I have a surprise Illuminations cruise planned for the my family.

You're not crazy!! We've gone numerous times, and the only things I do ahead of time are print out the park hours as posted on the disney website, so I have something to look at in the mornings before we leave for the parks, and maybe make a priority seating. I just can't say that we're going to this park on this day - we just go where we feel like going at the time. Probably couldn't do that in the busy season, but we go when it's slow. And come to think of it, we end up cancelling the prescheduled priority seating because it wasn't what we felt like doing that day. We do call for a priority seating in the morning of the day we need it, and have not been able to do everything we want to, but we're pretty flexible. Our vacations have been very relaxing and enjoyable, and I wouldn't do it any other way. :earseek:

We never plan ahead of time. Our average trip is 3 nights and we don't make hotel reservations that far in advance. We just booked last week for next week. We live in South Florida and don't have to plan that far in advance. I've never made anything but hotel reservations before we left. Of course, when we have children, that might change.

Unplanned can be fun! Last visit I made one PS at Chef Mickey's for a character Breakfast. That was it. It was great having the flexibility of going where ever the mood takes you. You can always arrange priority seating once you get there if you feel so inclined.

Well that makes me feel good. I realized last year when I ate a turkey leg and 3 mickey ears for lunch that It was nicer not to be tied down to a plan. So I figured I would take it to the next level and not plan certain parks on certain days.

Wow, this thread helped to relax me a bit. With new ticket pricing, we will have day we arrive & day we leave in parks now plus 5 full days (7 days total). This has made me rethink my touring plans to be a little more relaxed & spontaneous. I'm glad to hear that January crowds allow you to not make PS reservations but still get in where you want.

We are doing the spontaneous thing as well except for two P.S that we wanted on a certain day. Other than that "whatever we feel like!!!" After many trips to WDW we enjoy the slow ones. I'll look at park hours just to see what is open but that will be about it. Think of all us relaxed, go with the flow, people there....lets hope we all don't want to eat at the same place!!!

We go offseason too and never make PS's or plan everything out in the day...that would drive me insane to be honest with you and I know my husband would hate it, lol. We like to eat when we feel like it. wherever we feel like at the time...we do tend to eat at off hours though which helps. We plan what parks would be best to go to on what days and thats about it. We've been there enough to know what rides to hit first and where they are located, grab fast passes, if necessary. We find staying offsite more relaxing as well but thats a personal preference.

I think you'll have a great, much more relaxing time :)
