We are going in early Feb. and have never been at this time of year before! We usually go at times when park hours are longer! So, I am really stuck trying to plan this trip! Would any of you planning trips in Feb. care to share your itineraries with me? I am especially having a hard time splitting up my days, and planning evening activities! Oh, we are a family of three with a 6yo! Please help! Any tips or advise welcome:Pinkbounc :bounce:

jacksmom -

I have a 4,5 and 7 year old and we have always gone during slower times when the hours are not long.

I don't know about your child, but I look on this as an oppurtunity to either -

a: let them get some sleep (ie: stay at the parks until they close and then either get some dinner afterward if they can hold out that long or go back to the resort, get a snack and a bath and let them wind down, then lights out OR....

b: if the weather is warm enough or you can tolerate the cold with heated pools - let them blow off steam at the pool before hitting the sack.

My kids get an early start in the AM because of the shortened hours and they go pretty hard all day, so by 7:00 or so + travel time back to the hotel, etc... they are pretty wiped out.

Also, you may want to definately consider Fantasmic! as an activity for one night and maybe downtown disney or mini golf another night. Also, maybe Chef Mickey's for a later dinner one night - say at 8:00 after the parks close.

I hope this helps!

Well, with my boys being older (9 and 10) and DD only 1 1/2 (she'll nap in her stroller) we're planning on full days in the parks. We do have "off" days too, though. Our itinerary looks like this:

Tues 3 - arrival day, check in at AKL 3:00, Downtown Disney
Wed 4 - MK, 4:30 PS Crystal Palace, Wishes 7pm
Thu 5 - AK, 10:20 PS Donald's /take a break if needed/ Epcot, 6:55 PS Biergarten, Illuminations 9pm
Fri 6 - no plans, we'll do whatever we feel like (BB? mini golf?)
Sat 7 - Epcot, hop to MK for 4:30 PS Liberty Tree, Spectro 7pm, Wishes 8pm
Sun 8 - no plans, we'll do whatever we feel like
Mon 9 - MGM, 4:30 PS Hollywood & Vine, Fantasmic 7pm
Tues 10 - 10:00 PS Boma, Disney Quest, Cirque du Soliel 6pm
Wed 11 - MK, 12:20 PS Cinderella's Table/ afternoon open for whatever we want to see or do again
Thu 12 - departure day, check out of AKL

We plan to be at the parks for opening, and then it will be straight to bed when we get back to the resort at night!

jcemom, I notice you have Wishes at 7 p.m on Wednesday, February 4th. If I am reading the hours correctly on both the Dis and WDW websites, Wishes is going to be on Tuesday, February 3rd. The only reason I noticed is because we have a friend who is going to be coming up for one night on the 4th.

And I wish I could help with an itinerary, but other that getting to at least one theme park a day(smile), we don't plan much more than that.

Have a great trip!

SpectroMagic is scheduled for the 3rd at 7pm, then Wishes at 8pm...but on the 4th it is Wishes only at 7pm (I checked Deb's site, the WDW site, and TourGuide Mike just to be sure...LOL)

jcemom, thanks for the help! Your itinerary looks great! I hope you have a great trip!:Pinkbounc  :Pinkbounc

Thanks! Same to you! We'll be there at the same time, I'll be sure to tie some lime green to the stroller...if you see me say hello!

Thanks jcemom! I need to learn how to read the entertainment schedules(smile).

I'm taking my son and daughter-in-law to Disney from Friday, Feb. 6 through Tuesday, Feb. 10. :Pinkbounc Here is our adults only itinerary if it might be any help:

Friday - Arrive around noon. Lunch at Crystal Palace. MK until close and Wishes.

Saturday - Lunch at Tusker House. AK until close. Dinner at Rainforest Cafe in Downtown Disney. Shopping and Comedy Warehouse.

Sunday - Lunch at Biergarten, dinner at LeCellier. Epcot all day and Illuminations.

Monday - Lunch with an Imagineer (if possible). MGM all day and Fantasmic.

Tuesday - Park hop. Dinner at Cinderella's castle, Spectromagic parade, and Wishes.

My general plan is not to do a lot of park hopping, especially when traveling with others because it tends to put everyone in overload mode. What we do when entering each park is decide what we absolutely "must" see and those are the attractions we use for focus.

I also tend to take a break in the early afternoon because I'm not much of a park "commando". It makes the evening parades and firework shows that much more enjoyable. A lot of people will recommend this break since you have small children, however, I strongly recommend it for adults as well. Give those feet a rest and enjoy the magic of your Disney resort (if staying onsite).

Hope this helps.

Hi Jacksmom!
We go in January every year, and once we went into early February. Its one of the best times to go. I actually LIKE the shortened park hours. We went this past October as an extra trip and the parks were open later. It was hard to get used to. haha I enjoy heading back to the resort to have dinner there ( which is cheaper than the parks!!) and letting the kids swim and having a pool side drink! This is also a great time to catch up on laundry! Hubby sits with the kids while I run back and forth from the pool to the laundromat! . Or, if there is enough time we hop over to Epcot and walk around the countries for a few hours. We never do the extra magic hour, and in fact, I was probably one of the few people that LIKED the character caravan that came to the hotel lobby certain days of the week!! We get up, eat, and get to the parks around 9-9:30. We stay all day and dont go back for breaks or naps. With a 6 year old, you wont have to do that either. Our break comes from staking out our parade spot and having lunch there while we wait. For example.. share a dream parade in MK starts at 3, it gets to main street about 3:15-3:20. We get our spot on the curb near Casey's Corner at 2, get our hot dogs and fries and drinks and have lunch on the curb. There is also an ice cream parlor across the street, so we accomplish alot in that time frame- eat lunch, have ice cream, take a 90 minute rest, and see the parade from a great spot!
Im not sure you really need to plan "evening activities" for most nights. Even though the park closes at say, 7, thats when the fire works start at MK, thats when Fantasmic starts at MGM, and Epcot closes at 9, and thats when Illuminations starts. By the time you watch all the ending shows, and get back to the bus or car, and get back to the hotel, its going on 9 ( 10 if you are at epcot ) By then, we are all tired! Animal Kingdom will close at 5 and that would be a good time to head to downtown disney, or mini golf!! HAve fun

Thanks for all your great suggestions!::yes:: I have made a lot of progress today with my itinerary! I was even able to make some ps's today without difficulty! The only thing I haven't decided is whether to do HDDR or Cirque??? Thanks again for all your help! Happy trip planning!:Pinkbounc
