we,re going dec 11 to the 13, which is tue, wed, and thursday. however im reading now that the parks were really busy this time last year. i was hoping by going midweek itwouldnt be so bad, but am a bit worried now as i dont do crowds or queing!
has anyone been that can tell me exactly how busy its likely to be. also can anyone tell me how cold it could be.i really want cold weather so we can wrap up and drink loads of hot chocolate, but hubby tells me it wont be that cold as it isnt that cold here in dec.
im getting really excited now. i still havent told kids.not going to tell them until a week before we go!:santa:

Hi

You are there over the same period as myself and DD, we are there 9 - 13 Dec at SL. On a previous thread I had mentioned the same thing (concerned about the crowds) and was told that midweek it would probably not be to bad but we arrive on the Sunday which is probably going to be manic - so as advised we are going to make sure we book somewhere to eat for the Sunday evening, maybe Walts and try to get a window seat to watch Fantillusion.

I didn't think it would be that cold either but most people on these boards seem to say if you're going Dec make sure you're well wrapped up. I suppose if you're stood still staking out your spot for the Parades and stood queueing then it is going to feel colder anyway than if you are constantly on the move. I've invested in some thermal vests for DD.

Good idea. :thumbsup2

When we went at end December a couple of years ago it was very mild at first and I thought I had wasted money buying us all thermals ~ we were walking round with our coats open it was so mild. Well, over the space of two days the weather changed dramatically to extreme cold and snow, it was -8C. :cold:

So it's best to be prepared for the cold, even if the weather is mild in the day it will be cold at night when you are watching Candleabration. :tinker:

We went on 12 - 15 Dec 2006 (Tue - Fri) last year. Parks weren't that busy although it was so so so so so cold, we had lovely sunshine for the whole time we were there which was fine by us as we really didnt want rain. :goodvibes It adds to the spirit of things... :scared:

It was that cold my outfit consisted of thermal vest, T-shirt, Fleece and then coat and scarf with hat to cover ears and gloves for froozen fingers! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Someone also recomended these t-bag shaped things that heat up when exposed to cold air, cant remember what they were called but we wouldnt have survived without them, they were from ebay, so hopefully someone knows what i mean :confused3

thanks everyone. im hoping it is cold, but no rain!

im soooo excited. i cant wait to tell the kids. its getting harder the nearer it gets not to let it slip!

roll on december:santa:
