Going in Dec

I posted this on the families board too.

I know this has probably been asked before but what is the weather like in Dec. ?This will be our second trip. We are going from Dec. 23-29. ( the only time we could all get off). I am going with my 2 kids, my mom, dad, sisters, brother and niece. We rented a 5 bedroom house. What should we not miss doing? How should we dress? Everyone was so helpful with our first trip last year and we had a blast. Also we are not telling the kids until the day before we leave. This will be there Christmas present. Any ideas on how to surprise them?

It is a gamble in Dec. This year it went to 60- 80 for a high. You can google the average temp. It could be 30 or 80 you never know.

We have gone the last 2 decembers. It has been freezing (I can say that even coming from MI in winter!) it has been in the 70's and sunny and then in the 50's and raining.

In the same week it was 70 when we arrived on Sat, it was frost and freeze warnings on Tuesday night at MVMCP, and then rain with 50's on Thurs and Friday.

You just never know so we pack for all 3 when we go!

It is unpredictable. Pack clothes for both extremes and carry a jacket. We were there last Dec. On arrival it was so hot, 80's...compared to the 30's we left at home. By the next Thursday the highs were in the low 40's and I was freezing!
