Not been on here for a while as life has been mega busy, and suddenly its only 6 days to our next trip! This is trip no 17 I think, first since last June (and that was just a short stop on our way to the south (6 hours I think). As usual this will be in the campervan, but this will be our first trip as a family of 4 - me (43), DH (50), DS (11, autism) and DD (21 months). This is DD's first trip to DLP. She loves Minnie, and Sulley, but not sure how she will feel when she see's them in 'human size'!

DS was nearly 3 when we first took him, and that was a long time ago so any tips very welcome. We are taking the pushchair of course, and as we have the van we can bring our own milk in the fridge, and do many of our own meals.

DS will want to go on BTM as many times as possible, and DD will probably be very cross that she can't go on too!

Hiya
we brought DS when he was about the same age - he loved the Pocahontas playground and iasw but Stitch live was his favourite. He giggled his way through it!
I brought plenty of snacks to keep him going too because he liked to graze (rice cakes, rusks, fruit) in between rides.
Art of animation was great too - lots to look at. Videopolis was a handy spot to have a rest and watch some cartoons too. We found the baby care center in WDS a bit better then in the main park too - it was much cleaner.
Hope you have a great time.

Hi! Sorry I think you asked me for tips on my highs and lows but I haven't been on the boards for a while- I have disney blues!!

Our LO is 26 months so at their age is perhaps quite a bit of difference. I did worry a little before we left as he is a bit of a stickler for his routine (naps and bedtime) but he was so excited about where he was he wasn't too fussy. We had a few days where we had a grumpy hour but a ride on pirates of the Caribbean sorted him out.
The only problem I found was his understanding of queues! He really couldn't get why he had to wait to go on the rides, most of the time it wasn't a problem but I only tried a 20 minute queue for dumbo the once!!
I would say try and schedule nappy changes around the proper baby change facilities, I found the ones in the toilets very un appealing.
Apart from that we didn't find any problems.
If there's anything specific you want to know you're welcome to ask xxx

Thanks guys. What happens about pushchairs at rides, I can't remember? Can you take them in?

We will take lots of snacks and drinks. We have the campervan so will probably go back to the van for a lunch break during the day.

DS can't deal with late nights so we wont be in the park late - normally in the van with him watch a dvd, and us with a glass of wine but 9pm (though that was before DD).

She's not very routine bound (apart from bedtime), main problem might be no access to a bath!

No, you have to leave the push hair at the entrance to the ride. You can bring a bike lock to secure it to railings if you wish.

Would definitely recommend this if you have a nice one, as saw someone rushing out of the park towards the train station once with an empty one.

Have also had our rental chair go missing on numerous occasions over the years...once lost 3 different chairs in one day :rolleyes2

We came back 2 weeks ago with our 25m old.

Definitely take a buggy and lock, we locked it up while on rides, in restaurants etc.

Take baby reins - my dd loves hers andnit makes her feel much more independent.

Comfy shoes, my dd walked a lot - I noticed her new trainer type shoes had began to rub her foot after half a day, so out came the old battered shoes - no more problems after that.

She loved the characters and they loved her.

Use the baby swap system on rides

We didn't get offered any free food for dd, so stick to buffets or budget/share table service meals.

We found dd stayed up later in the evenings as she had a decent nap during the day, probably exhausted from walking so far lol, she doesn't nap at home anymore.

The babycare centre was lovely and clean, it has areas for warming food/feeding too

Most of the babycare areas weren't private, they were mostly in the ladies loos - which is ok but I had an unfortunate experience of walking in seeing a girl having her nappy changed and she was absolutely plastered in poo :-O

My dd absolutely loved dreams and the parades

Take plenty of snacks and drinks, neither of my children will drink fizzy pop so I took squash and made up enough to last the day each morning. My dd still has bedtime milk, obviously no cows milk available but I found in asda, cow & gate do a growing up milk in a mini carton with a straw attached, these were really handy

Hope these help :)

Don't think anyone will want to nick our pushchair as it is old and knackered, however it is a good reminder to take a lock as we would be in trouble if we lost it! Definitely taking reigns as DD is a wanderer and I am expecting it to be busy.

We always take juice to dilute. We first took DS at nearly 3 and we struggled to get him to drink as he didn't really do fizzy drinks then, and wouldn't drink water.

She loves Minnie so hope we get to see her!

Watching this thread with interest as we take our little boy who will be 18 months in December for the first time. So excited.

We took squash with us, plus those new squeeze thing bus robinsons for oh who doesn't love plain water....now who was the bigger child!
Minnie was in cafe Mickey and also at top of Main Street quite a lot on our last visit. They worked hard to make our 2 yr old comfortable and then played and danced to her hearts content. It was magical!

Definitely lock it - people may not necessarily nick it, but they will move it if its in the way of their buggy and you might not find it again!

Minnie has a meet and greet in the Studios and also in the main Disneyland Park so chances are you'll see her! :D

If you not worried about it being nicked don't lock it. A CM told us they are told to move them round to try and keep it tidier.

We took DD at 21 months and didn't actually take a push chair. We only have 1 though so makes it a bit easier.

I saw a CM doing this near Buzz - she made them into beautiful rows! lol
