We joined the DVC last Jan. and since this will be our first trip with the DVC, and I am looking for any advice or tips.

What do do recommend bringing supply wise?

Is there anything we should request upon check in?

TIA, any suggestions are much appreciated.

Hi, Twigs. I hope you have a great trip for your first visit!
We don't really bring any extra supplies, but some other members here do. Perhaps they can give you better advice on that.
As far as requests, you may want to think about smoking/non-smoking, handicapped rooms, and views. Of course, you must remember that these are only requests and not guarantees.

Have a great time at BCV!

First, I just want to say...*I'm so jealous!* We're still in the triple digit countdown at our house...seems like such a LONG time.

Not sure how big your party is...whether you are driving or flying...etc. We drive and have 3 kids...and we always bring extra snacks/drinks, pool supplies, paper goods, etc.

One of the best ideas I've heard here is to bring a clear hanging shoe bag to put on the bathroom door to keep all of the little *junk* organized and in one place. We also like the idea of a pop up laundry hamper. :)

Have a WONDERFUL time!

We love BCV!!! We were in a 2 BR, & I was glad that I had packed some dryer sheets & laundry soap tabs to take along b/c w/ 5 kiddos, it's easier to do a bit of laundry than try to pack enough clothes for the whole trip. I didn't really look to see where you're from, but if you're driving by chance, there's plenty of nonperishable breakfast foods that can easily be packed. We flew on our last trip, but did make a grocery stop for juice, milk, bagels, cream cheese, etc. Microwave popcorn was also great to have.

On our last driving trip, we discovered a Sam's Club, so we bought some snack-size chips & other treats. The bulk candy bars made everybody happy--especially me after I found out that I had to pay $1.50 for one that wasn't even any good at the Hilton at DTD:rolleyes:

Anyways, a lot just depends on your family size, driving vs. flying, & if you have a studio or 1/2 BR w/ kitchen. Whatever the case, have an awesome time!! We go again in June!!:Pinkbounc

Thank you to you both, we did request a non smoking room, but not a view, I was thinking of requesting a balcony, and I do know that theyare just requests and not garantees, is it true you can only have 2 requests? We weren't sure whether to request a certain view or just take our chances.

And kweaver, it will be here before you know it, the countdown seems to go fast, it seems like such a short time ago we were in triple digits! The plastic shoe thing does sound great, we are flying and it should be compact enough to pack.

Thanks again.

This may sound odd, Twigs -- and I don't know if you have kids going with you or not -- but we took a Game Cube with us in December. There were a few times we were glad we had it with us; it seemed to help our kids unwind. It's not that heavy, and I just carried it on the plane in a backpack.

Whatever you do, have fun. BCV is a wonderful resort!

I'm doing the single digit dance, and not to hijack this thread, but I was thinking of taking my Xbox with me. Does anyone know if this would cause a problem if I packed it in my luggage? Would the security folks think it was a bomb or something? :(

sgt...They are searching everything now, so no they won't think it is an explosive.

TWIGS.... Here is what we did. We packed one suitcase full of non-perishable foods. These are foods we used in the BCV kitchen. When we were heading back to Illinois we just used this suitcase for valuable Disney merchandise! :smooth:

I am assuming you are going to have a 1 or 2 bedroom with a kitchen.

Also, bring some extra coffee....and extra laundry soap, since DVC only provides starter packs.

Hope you have a great time! We are going for our second BCV trip in the summer. ::yes::

sgtdilbert, I agree with Doug. I was a little worried about carrying the Game Cube on, but I figured it wasn't much different than the laptop I was carrying. The worst that could happen is they'd make me turn it on. Well . . . they didn't even blink. I'm sure they see this stuff all the time. I'm also sure you'll be fine.

Have fun!!
