I did the disney college program and now I'm seasonal however I really need to go full-time once I move back to Florida next month. I really love my job and where I work now but I don't think there are any full time jobs available there. Does anyone know how long it usually takes to transfer to full time? And also do they give you options and lists of what is available if you transfer or will they just put u anywhere? Also how long will I be allowed to work overtime before they start capping my hours? Thanks

Most Internal Transfer opportunities at the Walt Disney World Resort are facilitated on the basis of Union Seniority. Waiting Times for transfers are dependent on a wide variety of factors, including the number of available positions, and the senioirty of those on the Skill Code lists.

If you visit the Florida-Site Internal Casting office, located in the Casting Center in Lake Buena Vista, Fla., they'll be able to inform you of available opportunities.

In accordance with the Service Trades Council Union Collective Bargaining Agreement, Casual Temporary Cast Members can work over 25 hours per week for a period not to exceed six months in a year.

DD went seasonal last Aug, got permanent part time in Oct and then got capped in March! She worked 40 plus hours until she was capped and then got no more than 24 hours a week.. until she FINALLY got full time exactly one year from the day she went seasonal!! Now she's getting plenty of hours :)

I was considering trying full time too but after seeing "union union union" I am reconsidering.

1) Florida is a right-to-work state.
2) Joining the union is optional for most jobs. *

* Except certain jobs like certain performers, musicians, etc.

Yeah but what's all this about hours being limited for non-union and such? I go to business school and most of what we learn about unions is usually put in a negative light.

STCU labour utilization restrictions are only in effect for Florida-Site Casual Regular (Part Time) and Casual Temporary (Seasonal) Cast Members. They are the same as the policies imposed by Walt Disney Parks and Resorts US, Inc. on Florida-Site Guest Service Cast Members in CR/CT non-union roles.

All Florida-Site Full Time Cast Members are able to work without any restrictions on their hours, with the exception of the 32 hour requirements imposed by the company for maintenance of status and benefits.
