going from terminal 1 to terminal 2?

This June we will leave Halifax, stop in Toronto(at terminal 1). Then we must catch our flight to Toronto in terminal 2. Will this take us a long time? When do we go through customs? How do we go from one terminal to the other?
What can we bring on the plane(Air Canada), one carry-on and a small bag? If you have any helpful hints to travelling through Toronto I would greatly appreciate it!!!THANKS!!!

fishinChip, There is a shuttle between T1 and T2. You will go through customs at T2. Hope this helps. With respect to your carryons - here is what Airc Canada has to say - YOU MAY ALSO CARRY ONBOARD ONE STANDARD ARTICLE WITH MAXIMUM DIMENSIONS OF 23X40X55CM (9X15.5X21.5IN) AND ONE BUSINESS ARTICLE WITH MAXIMUM DIMENSIONS OF 16X33X43CM (6X13X17IN) EACH WEIGHING NO MORE THAN 10KG (22LBS).

The shuttle was quite easy to use, however I've not used it for some time. I only assume it's the same/better than it was!

flying from YHZ to YYZ through to MCO on AC. We've always walked it...unless something has changed since January 2005...?

Doesn't take long - 5 minutes at a brisk pace...?? The problem is the "cattle call" area to get through Customs. THAT can take forever!! LOL!

I travelled to WDW in Nov 04 from Hfx through Toronto. We took the shuttle - with two kids, I found it to be a pain. I would say it took about 1/2 hour to get from T1 to T2 by the time we found the right area and waited for a shuttle. MBB is right about customs. We were in a huge line up for 1 1/2 hrs and finally, with only 20 minutes to go, an Air Canada employee ushered people from our flight to the front. We just made it as the plane was loading. Now, we were there very early morning on a Friday so that might make a difference in the crowds. Good luck
