We have quite a few dinner ADRs at other resorts for our upcoming June trip. Which is the better option for getting there -- calling a cab or taking a bus?

How much does a cab cost and how quickly do they arrive to pick you up?

How much of a hassle is it to hop the resort bus to TTC or DTD, then hop another bus to the resort we're visiting?

Taxi is a far better option. As you alluded to, generally, the busses don't go from resort to resort, so you'll have to go to a theme park or DTD and then change to another bus. That's a lot of work just to get to dinner.

Whatever you do, do NOT try to get a bus to the TTC, you will be waiting a LONG time :teeth: . The resort busses do not go to the TTC.

Trying to go from resort to resort using WDW transportation will usually average out to be an hour or so each way.

Whereas a taxi will cost no more than $15 and are usually waiting at the resort. If not, a bell service person (or front desk CM) can call. They usually arrive in less than 10 minutes. You will be wherever you need to be in most cases in about 20 minutes or less.

Hi,
Might I suggest that you may look into renting a car.You may be able to get a reasonably priced one.At 15.00 a cab ride that may be a rental day price or close to it.You would also have the convience of a car to get place to place.Have a great trip!

I'd looked up rentals and the cheapest price I found was nearly $300 for a compact car, plus we'd probably be parking valet everywhere we go.

Personally, I'd rather have a car while we're there! I hate not having one, but DH doesn't want one.

Going by bus can be done. Just allow EXTRA time and be patient. Figure an hour and half each way, if going from one resort to another.
If time is more important to you, use taxi service.

I prefer to head to a theme park and grab a bus rather then DTD.

We use the buses, no problem for us.

I agree. The only time you'd have to go to DTD is after the theme parks close.

As you know by now, inter-resort busses are nonexistant at WDW, so that leaves either a cab, multiple busses or walking. The only other option is if you are staying at the deluxe resorts around MK. The monorail serves CR, Poly and GF and you can take the boats that serve CR, WL and FW.

Therefore, technically speaking, those 5 resorts are inter-connected and moving from one to another is not a big deal. So if you were at the Poly and needed to go to the Hop-dee-doo for dinner, just take the monorail to the CR walk out the back door and hop the boat to FW.

I agree with zurgswife, more or less. If you're going from your resort to another resort, just get on the first bus (this is where we differ, that could be DTD) that comes along, and switch there for you dining destination. If you're going directly from a theme park, just take the appropriate transportation to your destination.

Why is that? We didn't make it to DTD on our last trip, so I don't know anything about it. Are the buses less frequent there?

Come to think of it, does the DTD bus share with the water parks? We stayed at AKL last time and I can't remember, but I think the water parks shared with something.
