I have gone to WDW about 13 times now, on VERY long trips. So you can consider me a WDW Veteran. But I have never been to Disneyland before. I am going in mid-July. I am wondering what attractions are different than their east-coast equivalents, or aren't there at all. Sorry, I haven't done much homework.

i have done both and one thing that really stuck out that was different was waiting in line for whinnie the pooh was a lot more fun in disney world lol !!

The churros in disneyland are 100x BETTER than disneyworld.

im not much help :)

There's a number of big things that will feel different. First, the parks are right there together so park hopping becomes so much easier. Downtown Disney is also right there so make sure to leverage it. You don't have quite the same need for ADRs as much as at WDW, but there are a number that are still hard to get such as Blue Bayou.

As for the rides that are at both parks have some small differences:
  • Pirates
  • Tower of Terror
  • Haunted mansion
Ones that are pretty much identical (lines or decor around may be different but rides themselves are the same):
  • Peter pan's flight
  • Toy story
  • Ariel
