My family and I are going in January for a Gymnastic competition so we are adding a short vacation (Wed-Mon) at All Star Sports. We only plan to go to Disney 2 days (Park Hopper) and currently purchased the Disney Meal Plan (the 2 counter services) which I believe is $41 per adult/per day. If I do the math, it does not seem like a value, in fact I believe I would lose money. Even if the counter service came to $15 per person/per meal and with a snack and even the free refill cup, I think I lose money. What are your thoughts?

Well, if you're not going into the parks 4 of the 6 days that you're there, you're going to be very limited as to where you can spend those QS credits. Eating in the resort food court can become very boring.

The cost for 2014 will $39.64/night for adults and $15.75/night for children. If you check the menus on allears.net, you can get an idea of what meals at ASSp cost. Lunch/dinner meals are generally a better use of your credits than breakfast.

There is also a downloadable spreadsheet at http://seeyareelsoon.wix.com/seeyareelsoon#!dining-plan-calculator/cxc0 . You can use it to determine if the QSDP is a better deal than paying OOP for your meals.

I like this dining planner to figure out which would be cheaper: http://www.distripplanner.com/

Personally, with the loss of the second snack on the QS plan I find it to be a waste of money. I cannot seem to see where it would save my family money. The one time I found it a good deal was because it had the 2 snack credits and we were there for food and wine. We used our snack credits to munch around the World Showcase. Now I just don't see where the savings is.

Thanks for your suggestions. I cancelled the dinning. It does not seem to workout in my favor, especially with only 2 days at Disney. Planning on at least one day at Universal and maybe another at either Seaworld or Bush Gardens

We've never bought the dining plan because we never spend anywhere close to the dollar amount it costs.

We have a one night reservation coming up and we are doing the dining plan but we plan on eating at Le Cellier which is expensive. I would never do it for a full trip. Too much money and too much food.
