My best friend and I are flying down to Orlando to celebrate my 40th birthday this weekend. We are going to arrive at MCO at 4 p.m. Saturday and our plane departs at 10 p.m. Sunday night. (I know it is a very short trip but that is as long as we could get away from our families) Staying at the Contemporary Resort. I have days left on some hopper passes from my last trip, so we can park hop. What would you do if you had only one day to spend at WDW?

I've actually done MK,MGM and Epcot in one day!!

Ya might want to start out early to do this or split between the 2 days!
Pick your favorite 2 or 3 things in a park to do.
Use Fastpasses.

We went to MK first then MGM and ended the day with a couple hours at Epcot watching Illuminations for the last of our day!

You could maybe do this in reverse.Pick which night time show you'd like to see,do that park on Sat evening/night then the other parks for a few hours each on Sun.

Have a wonderful trip and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!:earsboy:

I agree that your first step is to determine which fireworks show you want to see (if any). I think I would head to MK and watch SpectroMagic and Wishes since it would be very convenient from your hotel.

For the next morning, I would take my bag with me (I think I would only bring a backpack since it was one night - I'd even think about wearing the same shorts both days, so I only had to have a top in the bag and use the soap and shampoo at the hotel - the least amount of baggage that I could use---heck I could fit the things for 2 people in one backpack! :p)

I would be in line waiting for the EMH at MK on Sunday, visit the attractions that are my favorites and trying and head to the monorail to go to Epcot by 11. I would visit a few of the favorite attractions and get to WS for a lunch at a restaurant there (make a PS for 2ish? After reading Chefs de France review, I would go there). I would exit through the International Gateway(hopefully byb 3), take the boat to MGM. There I would hit a couple of favorites before heading back to airport.

Thanks for your suggestions.:D

I would choose your favorite attractions between two parks if possible - park hopping more than two in one day could be exhausting (and time consuming if you use Disney Transportation other than the monorail).

If you want to see a Fireworks show, choose which one, and end your day at that park - that way, you can do what you want and still be able to see Fireworks. If fireworks aren't a big deal to you, pick your favorites and have fun!!!
