Going for a boarding pass while in a restaurant?

Has anyone tried to get a boarding pass while in a restaurant?
We have a reservation at 50’s Prime at 12:15.
What if we do not get a boarding pass at 7:00am and need to try at 1:00?
Is this a bad idea to have a dining reservation at this time? I have tried to change it to after 1:00, but no luck.

Not sure how it would be a bad idea. Not a worse idea than trying to get one from anywhere else. Just keep your eye on the clock.

In September 2020 we were eating inside the SciFi restaurant during the afternoon virtual queue opening time. I really didn’t think I’d get a boarding pass being inside the restaurant but I got it! This past June I was actually buckling the seat belt for Tower of Terror during the 1pm queue time and miraculously got the boarding pass before the ride started.

Last trip to WDW I was talking to guys in front of me in line for MMRR and guys said they were on RnRC and the train got held at station because people would not put phones away because they were trying to get Boarding Groups at 1 pm. Don’t think it’s a problem. Only downside is that you can’t really move to get a better signal.

Yep, we did it. We were unable to get a boarding group back when it used to be at park opening. We were able to get one with the second group while sitting in 50’s Prime Time eating lunch. I just set a phone alarm 5 minutes before it was time to join.

It's fun listening to people's stories of how they got in the queue, the first time we got it (before they moved it to 7am) we were riding Slinky Dog. Was real fun refreshing while the roller coaster was going...

It is fun listening to where people were when they got their boarding pass! Especially the RNRC

on last years trip we missed the boarding pass window the first day bc we boarded RNRC at like 1259. Got it the second day we went to HS in the afternoon group. The morning passes seem like they are almost impossible

As long as you tapped into HS before 1 pm, whether you are still in the park or not, you can try for the 1 pm boarding group.
Your location doesn't really matter. I would however, use data and not wifi as most of the time in park wifi seems spotty.

If you get a BG at 1:00, it won’t be called until later in the afternoon. At 1:00 they’re usually still calling BGs from the 7:00 drop. So no worries, and MTFBWY!

We got it last month in Sci-Fi. Worked great, our group was called by the time we left the restaurant and it’s not a far walk. I know other people tried there and didn’t get it, because we heard cheers and boos LOL.
