Going crazy - please help

Before I go crazy I need some help....if Feb 07 we will be traveling with 5 of us instead of our usual 4 - we will have an exhange student. I have been impatienly waiting for Jet Blue to release Feb fares but no luck yet. We live in the Syracuse area. For the heck of it I checked out Airtran out of Rochester which is only just over 1 1/2 hrs away. I can get the 5 of us there for $1350 - which is about what I paid for 4 of us last April.....should I book it quick before the $99 fare sells out (return trip is $145) - or hold out for Jet Blue???? I don't know if they will be lower in price or not....I don't know what to do... PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!

I think if you paid that for 4 people last year and can now get the same price for 5 people, at todays gas prices, I would book it and be happy that you were able to get this rate.

We travel 2.5 hours to get on a southwest flight for 6 of us. We could fly out of our local airport that is 30 minutes away but would pay 250 dollars per person more then driving to Buffalo.

That's alot of money from Syracuse, NY. We live in Binghamton and I"ve never paid over $200 for airfare. We've flown out of Albany, Syracuse, Buffalo, NYC and this summer from Newark ($160 each). Very rarely can we find fares under $300 out of Binghamton airport. Friends of mine are going this Friday, Jetble from Syracuse and they're paying around $200/ticket. She just booked the flights a couple of weeks ago.

I realize that Presidents week is peak and you may pay extra, but I think I'd wait a little bit. Try the www.kayak.com site they will search flight prices in your region and atleast give you an idea of what's available for your time frame.
