GOING CRAZY!! Ahhhhhh ANYBODY help!!

I would make your plans for the 3 of you. Once it's booked the way you want it to be (hotel, dates, qsdp etc) tell your family your plans. This is what we booked and here's the number or website to book your own.
They are joining YOUR vacation so make sure you have what you wanted. It's only fair especially since they aren't letting you know when you ask.

 THANK YOU ALL SOOOOO MUCH!! We are going up to Ohio this coming up weekend for my dad's birthday! So I will get to talk to them all about what I have planed for us to do and to see if they are interested! I'm going to take prices of several idea's for them to look at also!!

NOW, I have a question!! This is what Ds, DH and I will be doing! Check in Sept 8, 2014-.. Check out-Sep 15th 2014.... We don't go to the water parks and we don't do park hopper... So we was thinking 6 days of parks, nothing the day we get there except downtown Disney or something like that, since we will be driving all day! and then of course nothing the day we are leaving..
BUT I have learned that possibly there will be a MNSSHP going on while we will be there!! That is something we would LOVE to do!! I mentioned it to my mom and she sounded like she would like to go also!!! But any who, I understand that you can enter the park with your MNSSHP ticket at 4pm the day of the party.. I don't know if we should use one of our days to go to the park during the day also or should we only do 5 park days and also the mnsshp that evening and just do downtown Disney and relax before the party? :confused3 I hope you understand my question!! LOL

yes understand your question :thumbsup2 think of MNSSHP as a seperate park experience because it truly is plan on entering at 4 pm and staying until ending that's 8 hours

relax, rest prior to party to help you plan here are 2 links for you
www.easywdw.com and www.kennythepirate.com

MNSSHP is awesome and in my opinion worth EVERY penny

as far as the rest of the " problem" make your reservation, give the family members your details and let everyone make their own ressies and plans

THANK YOU!! now if, with our package we get 5 day 1 park tickets.... Should we also go to MK a different day during the day? or should we be able to see it all the night of MNSSHP? Say we do the party on Tuesday, then we still have 5 days of parks. My DH and I did two days in HS last time. So we thought maybe two days at HS and one whole day and the party at MK and then one day each at AK and Epcot :confused3

you're welcome, yes with a 5 y/o at the time of the trip I would do what you are considering Once you look at the links I gave you you will see there is SO much to do at the party I personally wouldn't waste party time doing rides so I would go another day to MK

OK, so I think this is for sure! :cool1: Check in on Sept 8th, 2014.. Check out on Sept 15th, 2014.... Art of Animation resort :cheer2: We will do 5 full days of parks and also the MNSSHP :smickey: We will do the QSDP.... That's all I know right now :lmao:

As for my family, My mom and Dad are still really wanting to go (thinking of putting them in a suite with us) Brother is not sure he can come up with enough money for his family to go and if they don't go then my mom and dad can not take my nephew! :sad1:

NOW more questions:
-Is the second week of September usually in any free dining or discounted times?
-When do the free dining and discounts expect to come out for sept 2014?
-Do you take a stroller or wagon for your 5 year old?
-If nobody goes with us and it is just us three, I was thinking of possibly staying longer and hitting up Universal and sea world also?
-Does this sound like just to much for a 5 year old?
- Do you recommend staying at our Disney resort while going to Universal and sea world? OR would you recommend moving to a universal resort?

THANK YOU AGAIN EVERYBODY :grouphug:

We've gone the last few years right after Labor Day. Crowds are so low and it's a wonderful time of year to go. We have 6 kids ages 8 and under and have learned a few things. Don't overschedule. For us, 4 days at the parks is perfect for a week long visit. You're going to want to do things when at the resort too. And you can always add onto your ticket when you get there if you decide you do want to do more. We get 4 hours out of our children when we visit a park. So if we get there at 10am we know we'll be heading back to the resort at 2pm. Then later after everyone has rested/gotten to swim/grabbed something to eat we can head back to the park. Just don't plan on trying to cram everything in.

If everyone does go with you I can't stress enough to make sure you do your own thing and then if they meet up with you, great. We have gone with big family groups the last 2 years and it worked so well because we were all on our own timeline. We'd meet up for breakfasts or at the park for a few rides, then split off again. It's hard enough to get all of it in without worrying about other family members too.

MNSSHP is well worth it (we did it last year) and plan on having an entire day of down time that day before heading over. It's wonderful fun, but it's a late night and by midnight we were exhausted. I can't imagine how hard it would have been if we had done a park that day too.

Get park hopper if you can afford it too - it's well worth it with kids because you can do one park in the morning for a few hours, go back to the resort and go to a different one that night. Helps with burnout.

We take a stroller for our littles (twins who are almost 3 and a boy who is 1) and our older kids end up sitting in it too. The only time we went with one child, our then 4 year old rode in a stroller a lot (he is very tall for his age too, so we got some strange looks). Kids get tired walking around and it's always a good idea to have something for them to sit in as long as you don't mind pushing it. We never mind the stroller because it gives us something to put our bags on.

I can't help with dining because we don't opt for it, but I think they do offer it in Sept. and I believe they come out about 4-6 months before? Someone can correct me if I'm wrong - I haven't paid all that much attention!

I wouldn't do Sea World or Universal this trip. Unless you cut your disney parks down to 2 or 3 days. By the end of 4 or 5 days at the parks us adults are exhausted and ready for a vacation from our vacation. LOL! I can't say it enough - don't try to do it all. Just go with the flow, enjoy the rides and attractions you get to hit and don't worry too much about the ones you don't. Resting in the afternoon will give you energy for night time too. And with a stroller if your 5 year old falls asleep at night you don't have to carry him around the parks. :thumbsup

:woohoo: Thank You soooo much!! I have been wanting to hear from somebody who has experience with going the same time we will be going!! So glad to hear about the lines! I just know that my son would NOT be able to stand in a line for very long! Did you find your self still having to rush to get fast passes? Or were the lines not much to worry about?

Even Though being at the parks for rope drop would be cool to see, I'm just going to let my son decide his wake up time. He can get pretty grouchy when woken up!! But then again, we will be used to getting up at 6 for the school bus!! I keep telling everybody that this trip is for the little guy and we go at his pace, and see and do what he wants!

We are FOR SURE doing the MNSSHP!!! I know my son will love it!! I plan on just having a hotel day and he can swim and nap and all that before getting dressed up and heading to the party!!

I'm still trying to decide on the wagon or stroller for him. Maybe a stroller will be more comfortable if he falls asleep, and more easier for him to jump in and out of. Just gotta find a stroller for a big kid now LOL or maybe we should check into renting one for him.. idk

We really liked the quick service dining when my husband and I went and we will for sure get that! It's a lot easier for us.

I think we will skip out on universal and sea world this round, Don't want to push it!! LOL
Thank you so much for your input!! Do you have any trip reports or pics posted from your septemeber trips?? Would LOVE to check them out!!

Ok so a little bit of an update, as we went to akron to talk things over with the family, my brother said there was no way he can afford it and that his son's mom would not let him take him! Well that sunday before we left to go back home to wv, my nephews mom came and picked him up..... days later she never returned with my nephew like she was supposed to and would not answer calls or texts from my brother or mother! So finally my brother texted her telling her he felt something was wrong and was going to be calling the cops at his lunch break! Well then she finally called him and informed him that when she picked him up on sunday that she had already had the car packed and she moved to texas!! :sad2: So now my family is going through a lot! My brother talked to his son's mom and she decided if he would fly out to texas to get his son that she would let him have him for a month! So my brother and oldest brother got $1500 together and flew out asap to get my nephew! As they arrived she informed them that she hadn't had time to get paper work done and she needs papers signed and notarized saying that my brother will not KIDNAP his own son!! so they got to visit with him a few days and then flew back home without him! My family is now torn apart!! :sad1: He is only in day care now, so they are going to try to fly down every other month or so!!

SOOOOOO... I know for a fact that my nephew will not be going to Disney with us :guilty: because he will be in kindergarden at the time we go and she will not allow for him to miss school!! My brother will not go with out his son! My mom and dad are still undecided!! But for some reason I doubt they will go without Aiden going

Now we are looking into taking the auto train? Has ANYBODY done this? It will transport are car along with us! The closest one to board to us is a 5 hour drive to VA, if we were to drive the whole way to Disney it would be 12.5 hrs one way! I can not get quotes on the auto train yet because it is to far in advance!! But I am interested in hearing what other think about this idea? I do not drive and my husband HATES to drive long trips!! we would also have to stop halfway and rent a room for the night... Im not really sure if driving and getting a room half way through and then doing that again on the way back will be more or less expensive for the auto train? Im thinking the train will be ABOUT $800!!! ANY HELP PLEASE :flower3:

I'm very sorry for your troubles :( Family drama is no fun.

Never taken that auto train... but the flights for 3 of us (flying from Boston) were about $800 in December. I imagine you could probably get 3 tickets for around the same cost out of BWI or Reagan. You won't need to rent a car if you are only visiting WDW b/c of buses and magical express.

We never have a car and its aways worked out just fine!

On the pool situation we have been many times with others staying in different resorts and they had no problem with our kids swimming together at one pool or the other. I'm sure it's different if you are just going around to different resort trying out all the pools but letting the kids swim together is not that big of a deal! We have asked EVERYTIME and they told us it was fine EVERYTIME! And we booked this this time at the POR and have fam/friends at POP and WL and we called all 3 resorts directly and asked and they said it was fine :)

Thank you, It's just a lot of heart break right now!!

I have been thinking about flying, just not for sure yet :rotfl: My husband and son have NEVER been on a plane before and my husband is terrified to go on one! When my husband and I went in march of 2012 we drove half way down, stayed at a hotel then drove the rest of the way down. We only used the car I think one time... Because we got to the hotel late and all the food places were closed and we were starving!! So we went to the walmart, we loved all the cheaper Disney items :rolleyes1 So we kind of like the idea of having the car with us JUST IN CASE!! :confused3 I have NO IDEA!! Im lost! :rotfl: we will be limited on money but want to have a stressful fun time!!

OK!!!! Update for anybody that is reading :rotfl2: So as of right now it is OFFICIAL that Me, husband, son, and my mom will be going! dates are still the same as well as the resort etc... I just received an email from Disney :thumbsup2 Says I have a PIN for free dining (for dates I will not be there) OR a percentage off a resort stay :cool1: Of course the resort we will be staying at gets the lowest percentage off :rotfl: But it will still save us a few hundred bucks!! That is a PLUS!!

BUT.... I have a question! The PIN email states that the free dining would be for stays between 1/3–3/5/14.. Will there be more offers for free dining for later in the year? Or if they make free dining for the public for the days we will be there ,will our 15% off our resort stay? :confused3 Never used a PIN before!

My little guy got his Halloween costume in!!! He chose to be JAKE from Jake and the Neverland Pirates!! He looks SOOO adorable in it!! As soon as I get my camera lens back ( I dropped it and broke it!) I will try to get some pictures set up on here!! The quality of the Disney store costumes are SOOO much nicer than the Halloween store ones!!

I am wondering if there is anybody that makes boy clothing? Well really just shirts with characters on them? I see a lot of girl things that are sooo adorable!! but I do not have a girl LOL. I would even be interested in clothing that has been outgrown....

Also.... My husband and I have been thinking about doing a chore chart for my son to "earn" stamps each day! at the end of the week if he has X amount of stamps he receives a STAR! He needs to have X amount of stars to go to Disney! How does this sound? He is only 4 so im not sure where to start with chores! I never had any as a child we just helped and that was it! But We believe this will help him learn that being good and helping out will lead to good things! He has a little bit of behavior problems but lately if we tell him "mickey doesn't like little boys who are being bad" he straightens right up and says " I wanna go to Disney world" So we THINK/Hope!! this will have effect on us!! He does go to school m-th and is out of the house from 7-4 during his school days! I NEED help with WHAT chores, how many stamps equal a star and how many stars should be needed for the trip!

Our girls feed the dog, set the table, clear their plates and put the silverware away (except steak knives) when the dishwasher is emptied.

:wave2: Thank you for the idea's!! Im actually in the process NOW of making the chart

We went in September to take advantage of free dining and it was terrible due to LOVE BUGS.. look them up! It is big flying bugs, like the size of jersey mosquitos, flying in massive swarms, like something out of a horror movie. We normally went in October for my birthday, and then later on the free dining WAS offered for our Oct dates, but it was too late b/c we already bought the airfare. I had never heard of the LOVE BUGS but learned the hard way about them. They are around for about a month, spring and fall.. September is the month. Pick October! Look up pictures of them. They mate by joining butts, hence the name love bugs, and they fly around joined together. They don't bite thankfully and are just freaky to experience. We had spend a long time swatting them from our door at POP Century to get in. It was NUTS! Avoid September!!

OMGoodness!! That is crazy! Even when you look it up it shows pictures of them at a bus stop in WDW!! September is really the only time we can go :confused3 Thank you for letting me know though!! This is the first time that I have ever heard about them!!

Clearing dishes from table, putting clothes in hamper, picking up toys (we usually set the timer for 5 min at a time, and we all do what we can in 5 min.) 4 year olds need a lot of direction, and "go pick up your toys" can be intimidating. But, if you're all working together and you say "put all your cars in the carrier" that is easy for them to do.

I worry, though, about what your course of action will be if he does not earn enough stars? Will you cancel the trip? If not, then maybe a different incentive can be used, like he gets a gift card to spend at Disney.

Thank you for the suggestions!! No we wont cancel the trip, I think that if we start to get close to the trip and he doesn't have enough stars, we will add some bonus things for extra stars to make his goal! We just want to show him working hard pays off. Next year after our trip we will probably start giving him money every week for his chores! All of his chores we have been making him do lately involves him helping me. :laundy:
