Going bagless in the parks?

I went bagless for 3/4 of a day in Epcot in early Dec. 2015. It felt so strange and I kept thinking I'd left my little backpack someplace. Then when I got chilly, I had to go back to the resort to get my sweater because without my backpack, I didn't bring the sweater.

I used to go bagless when I had cargo shorts but they wore out and I've not found any for plus size females with useable cargo pockets in the past 2 years. I've decided that I do fine with my little backpack so that's what I will bring most days from now on.

We're on vacation and I refuse to be a pack mule for the family.

i agree with everything in this post, but especially this part. i stopped carrying their stuff years ago. i, too, realized that we rarely used most of what we were carrying. when my kids were little i gave them fanny packs, then they used those drawstring backpacks. now we all go bagless. dh and ds have pockets and dd and i use small wristlets. i actually only use the wristlet because i need somewhere to put my annual pass and ID; if i just have my phone, i normally just carry it in my hand and have no wristlet.

Go bagless and wear a kilt! http://www.utilikilts.com/

I wear my utilikilt - a man's kilt that can hold a 6 pack of beer in the many large pockets. Instead of beer I fill the pockets with pins on a lanyard, camera, phone, sunblock, pill case, showtimes guide, and my wallet. While I know the kilt is for men it looks like black pleated skirt to most people. ;)

We are returning from a 7 day trip today. My DD is 16 and her DBFF is 15. We made it the whole week without a bag!!!! My DH said he loved not carrying a bag. The temps were in the mid 80s with zero rain. If I was going in temps any warmer we would have needed a bag for water or cold towels. The only time we found ourselves needing one was for ponchos when we rode Kali river Rapids. We could have brought them in a bag and put in locker but we didn't and got soaked. We kept glasses and phones in our pockets. If I had to do it over again I would bring a very small hipster for phone, glasses, ID, money, and maps instead of using pockets. We absolutely loved the magic bands. Everything was linked to them from our MDE account. It was unbelievably easy. Magic band for room entry, park admission, fast passes, room charges, etc...No digging for cards or paper fastpasses.
