Going back to our 'happy place" w/pics link to my trip report( 9/7)

BTW #2, we'll be at WDW at the same time!:thumbsup2
HI! Thanks for coming over and reading.:goodvibes The ziploc method saves me a ton of arguments and time on those mornings I want to get out fast.:thumbsup2 I need to look at your days and see if we will be in any of the same parks.:)

:rotfl2: Love Peyton's thread, when mine start school I'll have to post a photo of them in their uniforms, at least there's no arguing about what to wear every morning :lmao:
When do your girls go back?I would like to see a picture of them on their first morning.Peyton likes school now but he was a nervous wreck that first morning.:scared:
Amy,

This is wonderful so far! I can't wait to read more. Your kids are absolutely adorable.
HI!!Thanks for the compliment I think they are pretty cute myself.:goodvibes I hope to have a real update tonight.:surfweb:

They broke up July 25th and go back September 4th and 5th (now at different schools!) They both have uniforms, I think all UK schools do, the first school they have to even wear a tie from age 4 to 11!!!!!

Maybe if we didn't DIS so much....:rolleyes1
DIS too much??? Is there such a thing? :rotfl2:

We leave the 14th (Tuesday) and return th 24th. I have started piling more stuff in my middle room, but the only things officially done right now is that the mousekeeping envelopes are stuffed and DS's backpack for plane is packed. SHould I be more concerned:confused3 ;)

Amy

Back to school pics are great - love the expression on Peyton!
I always have the back to school pics too! Mine start next week so I'll have to snap a picture if they'll let me (older son will be a Sr :sad1: and younger son will be a Freshman). They are excited to be in the same school together for the first time in 7 years!

A tie?? Though I think uniforms would make it easier I can't see Peyton wearing a tie to school.
My DH thinks there is such a thing as too much DIS...but I don't really trust his opinion,he doesn't like Disney.:scared1:

Concerned??Nah...I would be freaking out!!But I think piling stuff up is the first step in packing so officially you are packing.I wish my trip was that long

Started reading the other day and came back tonight to catch up. I lurk around the pre-trip boards to get ideas on packing, touring, you get the idea. Your children are beautiful, love the different expressions, countdown, dress up, first day of school. :rotfl: We don't go back to school in NYC until 9/4.

Love the packing list, but I'm wondering do your kids really just wear what you give them? My boys (14, 10 & 10) never want to wear what I want them too, except for the one day I get everyone in our matching Disney shirts.

Also, on your packing list, do you take Imodium and/or aloe for sunburn? Maybe it's just my weak stomach, pale northeast family :lmao:

We leave in two weeks and my packing list is in my head. Guess I better get it down on paper soon.

Peyton actually loves school, most of the time, but he is terrified of the unknown or new.He has recently been diagnosed with ADD,OCD,and anxiety disorder.Today he changed classes at school for the first time and did great though.
I would love to see pics from their first day.Rachel doesn't start preschool until Sept.4 but we will be in Disney. She will start the day we return.

Hi,thanks for reading.:goodvibes No more lurking,if nothing else just drop in and say hi.My kids wear what I want them to wear in Disney.Peyton and Rachel give me a hard time at home but for some reason cooperate there.I do have them help me pack their outfits so I can take their suggestions into cosideration.Plus Peyton and Rebekah only wear their Disney shirts in Disney so they are actually already in the suitcase.
I haven't thought about taking immodium, probably wouldn't hurt to have some on hand.See,coming out of lurkdom (is that even a word?) helped me out.:thumbsup2 I can't remember the last time we used aloe.Rebekah,Peyton and I don't burn and I use alot of sunscreen on Rachel.

A little background. We probably shouldn't be taking this trip because of financial reasons. When I planned it I knew it was a longshot. But with saving every dollar I can and some help from grandparents who refused to cancel we will be going .We will go on a strict budget though. That is okay with us,we are used to it.Last year on a nine day trip I spent just over $100.That included souvenirs for Harleygirl and her boys and two souvenirs for me.:woohoo:

Well a couple of months ago my mom gave us a big jar of pennies. We are firm believers in saving change for vacations. The $100 mentioned above came from the change jar.:thumbsup2 She didn't want to mess with counting pennies so told me to take them.We added the pennies we had and tonight we counted them. The total was $58 !  I still have my silver jar of change to count so we should have plenty of money for food on the way there and back and the little things we need.BTW,the kids will have their own spending money.

A budget trip to Disney is better than no trip at all anyday!!!:cheer2:
21 days left!!!!

Amy - You rock. Ok I just spent the last hour working (sshhh reading your pre trip report) hehe. So if the boss asks I will just explain there was this awesome trip report I had to read.... hehe. Your kids are adorable. And I agree a budget trip is better than no trip. My daughter always brings her own money. I spend the most the last few days once I realized I had enough to make it.

Love your report!!!! And sooo jealous of your countdown

11 years old and in her second year of middle school? What grade is she in?
Enjoy her thinking boys are yucky-they are!! At least that is what I keep telling my DD8.;)

She's a November birthday, so a bit younger than some in her class. She is starting 7th grade this year.

I started thinking about all I have to do before we leave next week, and thought, boy I really need a list like dismom!!

Wow that's great Amy, those jars sure do hold a lot :)
Yep, they hold alot.It will be interesting to see how much we have in silver change. So have you started packing yet or just piling?;)

Thanks for coming over and reading. I was just telling my friend about your trip. She and I want to take our kids on a trip together.:) Yep I figure out how much I need to get us home and then spend the rest on our last day.:woohoo: My kids have their own money but it is very uneven this year.Peyton has $50,Rebekah has $20,and Rachel only has $10.:sad2: Thanks for all the wonderful compliments!:thumbsup2

You leave NEXT WEEK!!:cool1: :cheer2:  I can't wait to be able to say that.Tyler has an October birthday,he will be 12 yrs old, and he is in 6th grade this year. The cut off age must be different where you live.Interesting.:goodvibes

Still just piles :rotfl2:

Did I tell you what an obscene amount of $ my DD's have got, they asked for money instead of Birthday presents this year and with the exchange rate at £1 to $2 they've managed to get $370 each :faint: That's way more than me :lmao: They want DS games and stuff like that as over here most DS games are $60 so they'll get loads more for their money in the US :thumbsup2

Hey Amy!!!

I'm caught up!!! I can't believe it! 2 days away, and things go crazy!!!

Thanks so much for your kind words and thoughts these past few days!!

I can TOTALLY feel your "pain" on the money end! My DD is 19 and still spoiled rotten, our nieces and nephews as well....and any other "baby" that happens along on our trips! We are traveling this trip with some friends and their kids as well as our niece and nephew. What I've done as over the past several months, every time I'm at the Disney Outlet store or see a good deal online, I pick it up....one for each kid. I have managed to gather enough for every baby to have a "gift" every day we are there. This way, when they ask for something in the park, we can say, Oh!! Your Present for today is waiting in the room!! It's a SURPRISE!! and we don't have to spend the extras in the giftshops!!! I must admit though, this year I went a WEE BIT overboard!! Can't HELP spoiling others kids!! Especially at Disney......the smiles on their faces are unforgetable!!!

Hope your day is going great!!!
We're SOOOOO getting to the tiny numbers now!!!!

I know you have bought a lot of cool stuff for them. They are going to be ecstatic!:woohoo: I wanted to get mine a little something to have when we get there but I will see later if it will work out.We are getting closer!!

Okay I am in desperate need of everyone's help.Peyton saw a Goofy stuffed ...thingy on someone's trip report and it is the only thing he has talked about spending his money on.She got it at a yard sale.:scared1: It is round like a pillow with the goofy hat on it.Has anyone seen anything like this??I think it was on heath-and-javens-mom .

Where are you going shopping outside of the world
The Florida Mall, last time we went to an outlet but they didn't have anything to fit oldest DD so she got nothing :sad2:

It is round like a pillow with the goofy hat on it.Has anyone seen anything like this??
Sorry no I haven't seen that!

For cheap travel things I found lots of free printable Disney crosswords, wordsearches etc for the DD's and made a book for them, also I found a site where you can make your own puzzles, I made one all about our trip, rides, restaurants etc and also a HSM one click here! I'll let you know when I return if they liked them :rotfl2:
