I just booked a last minute trip with my fiancé and his kids. It’ll be our first time taking the kids to the parks and I’m a little concerned with crowds. We’re planning some pool days as well as park days. Would you think Monday would be a good day for the parks since it’s farther away from the holiday? We’ll have the express pass, will those lines be long too?

One of his daughters is austistic. We used the system at Disney to help with lines. Does universal do something similar? Or is us having the express pass the best we can do?

My strategy is get to the parks early to try and avoid some of the crowds. Should we take afternoon breaks at the hotel and then go back in the evening or just stay in the parks all day?

Trying to plan so the kids have a good time

I would say you will be fine with the express pass. You can get a return time but that shouldn't be necessary. If you are staying in a umiversal hotel, take advantage of the extra hour in the morning.

If you need a break, head back to the hotel for a while, but I find with the express pass you should be able to finish up what you want to do pretty early.

Depending on when the parks close, you could head back in after dinner if you want to do something else.

The unlimited express pass will be worth its weight in gold if the parks are crowded

You will have less ride wait in the lines

There have been some years early July has been manageable for line waits w/0 the ep
But not a chance you want to take

If the daughter has a difficult time in the parks due to crowds, check with guest services if they can provide anything other than Using the ep

The team members are so good to help all the guests and try to meet specific needs

The first aide sections in the park could be a place where you can take her if she becomes overwhelmed with crowds
Just being away from
Large groups and noise maybe something she will need sometime during the park day

Thanks! Is there a way to see which park is the one that opens early?

Last year we were onsite starting 2 days after the 4th. It was so crowded, the FOTL pass really didn’t give what i’d term an advantage normally.

As Mod Mac stated, it was surely better experience than NOT having it but just the crush of people made navigating difficult, especially in the HP areas.

Go for early entry in whatever park (the resort will let you know upon checkin). Tour, then enjoy an early afternoon break to enjoy the pools before the inevitable after TS rolls through. Return late afternoon/early evening.

Enjoy!
