I'm off to DLRP at the very beginning of October and wondered if anyone has been at this time and if so what is the weather like and what are the queues like? I know it's not peak season so I'm hoping to be able to do most of the rides without too much queuing!

Also, the Halloween Festival starts on my second to last day. Do you think they'll have everything up and running on that first day? I'm sort of hoping I can catch the usual Disney Parade on the first day and then the Halloween one a few days later!

Thanks.

Hi,

I went first week of October 07, midweek. It was very quiet in the parks - we also had EMH, so in our 2 night/3 day stay we did everything we wanted over and over again, plus met princesses, loads of characters etc. Minimal queuing - the longest we queued was about 40 minutes, for the princesses (and that was only because we wanted to meet a particular one :goodvibes ).

The weather was mild, we wore fleece jackets in the morning, but by 11am they were off for the rest of the day.

Halloween season will be fullly up and running on the very first day of the Halloween season - so you will see all the parades, shows etc that anyone else will see for the rest of the Halloween season.

Enjoy!

Elaine

I went in October, and it was slightly busier, but not to bad, it was a nice time to go. I found it a little cold, but i suppose that just depends.hehe

when you get there all the halloween stuff will be up & running as i think they start it all at the end of september so the only parade you will see in magic kingdom will be the halloween one not the regular one, but you will see the regular one in mgm. the weather is pretty good that time of year. i didnt have any rain. it can be slightly chilly in the morning & evenings but during the day it's nice & warm & really sunny. crowds can get busy at the weekends with some rides with queues of an hour-75 mins but weekdays are much quieter. it's a great time to go though, i loved it!!!

Hi piglet,

The Halloween season kicks off this year on 4th October. So the first parade in the main park which is the Halloween version will not be until 4th October. Lots of the pumpkin/pumpkin men decorations will be all over the park from September onwards though. CityBlue will see the normal OUAD parade in the main park until 4th October.

The Studios parade is finishing in April this year, and apparently is not being replaced until March 09.

Halloween season starts 4th October, so yes you should catch the OUASD parade at the beginning of your stay and then whatever is planned for the Halloween parade on the last 2 days. Bear in mind that last year as with there wasn't a full on Halloween/Christmas parade but OUAD with a Halloween/Christmas twist.
By mgm I think squirtlovespiglet is referring to Walt Disney Studios, which as discussed in another thread is without a parade from March 08 - March 09.

We went the first week of October 2004 arriving on the first day of the season and everything was up and running, although I swore more pumpkin men appeared over the course of our stay. In 2004 the weather was very good too, we walked around in Tshirts.

There's a few pics from last year and some Youtube links in this thread.

Hi Cityblue,

I too am going the very first week in October only my last day is the very first day of the Halloween season. I like you am hoping the weather is still nice and that the queues are not too horrendous.
I have been desperate to go for halloween for a while now and with my youngest now 13 it's getting harder to persuade her to come with me.
I truly am dreading the day when i have no-one left to come with me.:sad1:

It is a great time to go as everyone has said - the parks wont be too busy and you may get lucky with the weather - when we were there in 2004 the weather was lovely and mild

You will love Halloween Season :)
