GOH badges & shipping

I went to order a GOH badge online at giftsofalifetime.com for my DD and they were 7.50 a piece. OK, thats reasonable. i went to check out and saw the shipping would be over 8 dollars. i cant justify spending almost 16 dollars on this. Would anyone be willing to go in with me on an order? I dont go to WDW til Dec but i would like to get this to save time before we go(cursed type A personality...lol) Please PM me if you are interested

Go here to find info on getting the GOH badges for $5 each. If you're staying onsite I believe it says they can have them waiting at your resort which means no shipping fee.

Just wanted to add my two cents worth when it comes to the GOH badges..........we just got back this past Saturday, and I had purchased the GOH badges at the Christmas store in Downtown Disney............I don't want to discourage anyone from getting them, as this could have just been our experience, but nothing special happened and we were them all week! We had a couple of people say hello, but no big deal. The CM's just kind of looked at them, but didn't say much. I felt that if they were a veteran CM they knew about the GOH badges, but otherwise nothing......was disappointed with this.........

CM's greeted us everywhere by name and sometimes by fellow guests! A lot of characters who signed my son's autograph book personalized their signatures, ie, "To Pete From Mr. Smee" and my son got picked to participate in a lot of Disney things (I think because it was easy to remember his name!).

Only drawback is that some guests thought I was a CM because of my name tag and kept asking me questions and directions. Had one lady reprimind me for not knowing where the closest bathroom was. No matter how hard I tried to explain, she never got that I was a fellow guest, not an employee.

I have to agree with Pete's Mom, we got a lot of attention and when DD got an autograph, some of them actually wrote it to her. CM's played with her a lot and she couldn't figure out why they knew her. Wife and I didn't really get this attention but it was fun to match with all of us wearing them and to see how they treated DD.

Also, my suggestion on getting one is this. I too did not want to pay 8-10 dollars shipping for them but wanted them before we went. Another DIS member was going about two months before us and volunteered to get them and mail them to me and it only cost about $1. Ask around, there are a lot of nice people here that would be glad to do that for you I am sure. I would if I were going. HMMM, maybe the wife will agree to go just to get them for you!

If you call the Disney Days of Christmas store they will engrave and either send them to you or hold them for you at the resort you're staying at.

Each badge is $5.30 with tax and they charged me $8.95 for s&h. I was a bit disappointed by this, as when I talked to someone at the store she said postage would be whatever it was for an envelope. This would have made sense, but instead I they sent it in this huge box which had another smaller box with all sorts of tissue paper....well you get the idea.

Anyways, we aren't staying on site so holding them at a resort wasn't an option for us. Try calling one of these numbers (the first gave me an answering machine but the second I got to talk to a live person) if you want to order directly from Disney:

From what I understand, you can only get them from Days of Christmas. Disney Merchandising doesn't have them but the DOC store does...go figure. I just received mine 2 weeks ago, so I know they still have them, it's just a matter of calling the right number.
