Gogurt after Sell By date?

How long would you think gogurt (or any yogurt) for that matter is good for after the sell by date? I have a big Costco box and just hate throwing a bunch way. We were gone for two weeks so it didn't get finished off in a timely manner. At the same time I figure making my kids sick on old gogurt would be worse then throwing it away.......

Not sure about Gogurt specifically, but one of the yogurts I've eaten says it's good for 5 days past the sell by date. I would guess thats probably standard and wouldn't just much past that.

Are we talking about just a few days past the date? I've eaten plenty of yogurt pass the "use by" date. It's pretty easy to tell when it's no good anymore... it gets REALLY runny. YUCK!

On most products, it's usually good for 5-7 days after the sell by date. Trust your nose and intincts though.

Are you going by the sell by date or the USE by date?? There is a difference.

Just use your judgment. If the yogurt looks, smells, and tastes good, and there are no visible signs of mold, it's okay to eat.

We eat yogurt a lot and usually have no problem a few weeks after the suggested date.

My rule of thumb is that if I wouldn't eat it MYSELF, I won't feed it to my CHILDREN.

Yeah, sell by dates are the date they must be sold by (tell that to my local stores who often times have things a week or even a MONTH out of date)

A USE by date is the date it should be consumed by.

But again....my general rule is if I won't eat it, I don't feed it to anyone else.

Except in the case of the sweet Gogurt, I won't ever eat the stuff myself, but I do feed it to my kids.

Are Gogurts in tube form? I freeze them (in Canada they are called Yoplait Tubes) and they last well past the best before date (assuming yours are still before the date). Our kids love eating them frozen

I bought a large box from Sam's Club and didn't look at the date until I got it home. It said good 7 days past sell by date, even if frozen. I had bought it for my grandchilden and it was no longer good 2 days before they got here. So DH and I ate a lot of Gogurts, there were 32 in the box.

I noticed that it did get a little runny once it was past the sell by date, but I just squeezed the tube a few times before I opened it. There were some left and I forgot to throw them away and the grandkids ate them, this was maybe two weeks past the sell by date, and they didn't get sick.

Oh, right. Exactly. I'm not a gogurt fan either, but I'm talking in theory. I think WOULD I EAT IT if I even liked it?

I also won't eat Souffer's mac and cheese. Just the smell of cooking it makes me gag.....UGH.

The box says to use by a few days after the sell by date, even if frozen. I would be careful with that
