What a year in sport for the University of Florida. First Billy Donovan coaches the Gators basketball team to a NCAA championship, but Urban Meyers in his second year as the Gators head footbal coach just blew out undefeated Ohio State 41 to 14 to win the Gators second football title. Also Gator alumn David Eckstein help lead the St. Louis Cardinals to a World Series championsahip and named series MVP. Also Rex Grossman of the number one seed Chicago Bears is favorite to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl. Further proof God is a Gator fan look outside and see that orange sun and that blue sky? Thats right God Must be a Gator fan.
:cool1:

:thumbsup2

It's great to be a Florida Gator!

Although Rex needs to shut his mouth. ;)

It's surreal, it's so good! Especially for those of us who suffered through the 1979-80 winless season.

They kept showing all the glum Ohio faces Monday night, and I kept thinking of how often it had been us!

But not this time!

Congratulations to the Gator Nation on winnning the National Championship!!!

As a diehard LSU Tiger Fan, I'm not usually rooting for you guys. But it's about time the SEC gets some respect!!!!!

what did Rex do now?

I was referring to two weeks ago when we wouldn't shut his yap about not playing at 100 percent because it ws New Years Eve, the game didn't mean anything, etc.

I'm so glad the Seahawks are playing Rex instead of a real pro QB like Drew Brees.

The Hawks may still lose, but they certainly got a shot against the Gross.

Actually, Rex Grossman was born and raised in Bloomington, Indiana. He only went to college in Florida.

But you can claim him as a Floridian if you want.

We are not claiming his as a Floridian, we are claiming him as a Gator, which he is.

Ok let us clear the air the University of Florida share the nickname Gators with the following; Allegheny College(Meadville, PA), College of Notre Dame(Baltimore, Md) Pine Manor College( Chestnut Hill, MA) Russell Sage College(Troy, NY), San Francisco State University( San Francisco, Ca), and University of Houston-Downtown(Houston,TX). Joe Public know when someone says they are a Gator fan that they are a University of Florida Fan. When googled all the top response are University of Florida links. None of the other colleges or universities have used the nickname as long as UF. As for the Rex Grossman reference he did attend the University of Florida and is thus a Florida Gator.

American by birth, Gators by the grace of God.:cool1:

ps; Both post are an attempt at humor .

Don't forget the fine job Steve Spurrier did at South Carolina this year. Great year for Gators all around :)

Sorry but when I hear (or see) the word Gator I just think of one thing, after all it is THE GATOR NATION, not the Florida Gator Nation. ;) When you ask Gators where they graduated from, most likely the answer will be, "I am a Gator" rather than, "I graduated from the University of Florida" or "I graduated from UF." And never ever will someone say, "I graduated from Florida." :teeth:

Anyway, Deb, when you mentioned his hometown I didn't equate to Florida with the university but Florida the state.

Get ready Gator fan cause it might be about to come true as Rex Grossman and the Bears are headed to the Super Bowl, and a possible trip to WDW too.:cool1:
