Today I decided to go the Disney’s California Adventure first. As opening time was posted as 10am I wanted to get there for opening and got to the entrance plaza at about 9.15am. There was already quiet a queue forming and we were allowed in the park by 9.45am. On my agenda today was Midway Mania as it is so popular and there are no Fastpasses :( I nipped into the park and went past Soarin’ to pick up a Fastpass and then waited for rope drop at the bridge to Paradise Pier.

At 10am the rope dropped and we all ‘walked’ towards Midway Mania.

Once there we were led through the waiting area and it was a walk on ride, I was off by 10.20am! As my Fastpass was still ok until 11.10am on my way to Soarin’ I stopped and went on Mickey’s Fun Wheel, this gave great views over the park

I then went on the Silly Symphony Swings

After this I went and did Soarin’, which is still very popular here in California! Then it was onto Hollywood Pictures Backlot and I did Monsters Inc, Mike and Sulley to the Rescue

Followed by Muppet Vision 3D

I then went and got a Fastpass for ToT and wandered off towards It’s Tough to be a Bug, which is an identical show to the AK one. It was then time to get lunch. Being as I was in California it had to be the Golden State for lunch. First I took the Bakery Tour

This convinced me I need to eat some sourdough bread and I ordered the chicken, apple and walnut salad in a sourdough bowl, to accompany it I had a frozen mango margarita :thumbsup2

After lunch it was time for ToT. Still needing more speed I decided on California Screamin’ and found the single rider line ;) Once again the view did not disappoint.

Then I went back to the Golden State and got a nice cold glass of wine. It was getting near to mid afternoon so I took the Single Rider option at Soarin’. As it was getting hotter so I went back to the hotel to chill by the pool for a few hours and to sort out my shuttle for tomorrows move.

I returned to Disneyland at about 6pm and did a few rides such as Buzz Lightyear Astro Orbiters then the Matterhorn Bobsleighs, which had not been working the previous 2 days!

Now I was near Toontown and as it is bigger than the WDW one was I had a look around

As I left Toontown it was sunset and the castle looked pretty.

I did grab a bite to eat and then went and picked a spot to view ‘Magical’ the night time show over the castle at 9.30pm.

I must say nothing still compares to Illuminations! As Fantasmic was on tonight at 10.30pm I then made my way over to Frontierland and got a spot.

This ended about 11pm and I made my way back to the hotel as tomorrow I was transferring to the Trek America departure hotel.

you fitted loads in and the weather looked good.

I must say being by myself made it so much easier to get alot done and the weather was perfect once the early morning cloud had gone :)

Another great day. I was surprised how calm the 'walk' to Midway Mania was when we were over there.

Illuminations is my fave show - looking forward to seeing it lots in a couple of months as we are going to be staying at Boardwalk Villas. :thumbsup2

More fantastic photos ... looks like they are building a Big Thunder ride or something like it in one of the photos. Toontown looks fun ... love the Chip and Dale Treehouse.

Sarah, that is the new Cars Land area due to open in 2012 :)

Wow, you did fit a lot into today Claire. Love the views from Mickey's Fun Wheel ::yes::

Another IllumiNations fan here too :thumbsup2

Well done on riding Mickey's Fun Wheel, Silly Symphony Swings and California Screamin' - there was no way I could bring myself to ride any of them while we were there - far too high for me.

The sour dough bowl sandwich looks delicious

Your report is making me quite nostalgic for Disneyland - I'll have to have a word with Tam.

Did you do the static or moving cars on the Fun Wheel? We did the moving ones and it freaked me out! A really strange feeling.

Kev

Great day you packed in lots, fab pics brought back lots of memories of our trip there

I used to hate high/fast rides but now the higher and the faster they are the more I enjoy them :D
