Saturday July 9th 2011
We were all up early as today was the day we parted ways. Oliver was the first to go as he had to get back to work in Luxemburg. Jessica and Louise were flying later in the day to Las Vegas for a few nights, Hayley was staying another night before heading to Canada, I was flying the following day back to LA. So that left the remaining 8, who then became 13 again when 5 new trekkers joined. By the time the paperwork for the new trekkers had been completed it was gone 9am and one last group photo was taken
After hugs and tears
they drove off leaving the 4 of us there, so that left one thing to do, go back to Seattle and explore some more. We got the train back into town as our hotel was at Sea-Tac airport. Jessica and Louise only had a few hours to spend in town so we went to Pike Market. Hayley and I then eyed some nice foods for dinner later
Soon more tears flowed as we said goodbye to Jessica and Louise
But as the weather was nice Hayley and I decided to do a boat trip to view Seattle and surrounds from afar
Mount Rainier was clearly visible today
After this we got a bite to eat on the waterfront and then headed over to the Space Needle
As it was Saturday there was quite a queue but we had reached the top in about an hour, the views were wonderful and Mount Rainier dominated the skyline
After a fun afternoon of sightseeing we picked up some snacks at Pike Place and went back to the hotel. Tomorrow I was heading south again!
