Haha I could go on forever (I teach too)... what kills me is we aren't technically getting paid over summer... they hold money every week from our checks so that we can get a check over the summer and not have to budget our other checks. So they aren't paying me to "sit on my butt" (even though I am constantly planning over summer)...they are just giving me the money they held from me.

I'm not a teacher, but I definitely appreciate them!

I have a friend who teaches and the way they do their pay is that they have a certain salary for the year. The teachers can opt to break that up into 52 weeks of salary OR just get paid during the school year OR get paid during the school year and then take a lump sum for the summer weeks. They're getting the same salary; but they can choose to break it up however they wish.

Hi everyone! We've arrived at our destination and it's WONDERFUL! I haven't had a chance to answer PM's or dig out my train stuff yet, but I'll put aside a half hour or so later today to respond to you. Went to Winn-Dixie for groceries last night and found some tearpads! Only a diehard coupon nut would be a mile from the ocean and get excited over tear pads of coupons at W-D!! DH could only shake his head as I excitedly ripped a few off each tear pad. The Gulf was magnificent too!
