Ever since Kevin recommended the book I've been hooked. I saw the film with my best friend last night and I can't stress it enough how this movie is a must see! If you haven't seen it don't walk, run to see it! You will cry, laugh, cheer and get down right angry. It was that good. Awesome! Thank you Kevin. :0)

I can't wait to see it! I've heard great things from my friend that saw it. She said it stays pretty true to the book. The kids go back to school Monday, you'll find me in the movie theater!

I just got back from AMC where I saw the movie today. As a huge fan of the novel, I was pleased. The movie was charming, and I thought it did a nice job staying true to the book. I did feel that the relationship between Aibileen and two year old Mae Mobley was a little downplayed though. I didn't see the bond as strong as it was in the text. I also thought that the movie lessened the severity of Minnie's abusive relationship with her husband. It appeared as if some scenes were cut during the final editing. While I am not advocating for violent depictions of what happened, I thought more of the emotional impact could have been shown. All in all, it was a great movie, and I do recommend it to all.
