If the adults want to go out for drinks but not eat, do the restaurants allow this? Do I need to make an ADR. I never noticed if any of the disney counter service had bars in them?

Most resorts have bars/lounges seperate from their restaurants, where you don't need any sort of reservation to enjoy adult beverages. Some of them, particularly at the values, are actually poolside bars, while some of them - for example, the Tambu Lounge at the Polynesian - are indoor bars with seating.

I am not sure about using the bars inside the restaurants, seems like it would be easier and more relaxed just to visit the seperate bars/lounges.

At Hollywood Studios, we went to the Tune In Lounge which is the bar of 50's Primetime Cafe. We didn't have any ADRs, we just went into the bar/lounge area and ordered drinks.

At Downtown Disney, we were able to walk right into T-Rex and sit at the bar and order drinks. Again, we didn't have any ADRs.

At Epcot, we ordered drinks from the Rose and Crown Pub without having ADRs for the restaurant part of the pub.

Those are the only restaurants I specifically tried doing that at, and they both allowed it. I'm sure other restaurants allow it to... those are just the only ones I tried.

As far as other places to just order drinks...

At Animal Kingdom you can get drinks at the Dawa Bar. Also near the Yak and Yeti CS restaurant there's Yak and Yeti Quality Beverages where you can order alcoholic beverages to go.

At Hollywood Studios there's the Backlot Canteen next to the Studio Catering Company that sells alcoholic drinks.

At Epcot there are PLENTY of places to get drinks in the World Showcase. (La Cava del Tequila in Mexico is a personal favorite of mine!)

And many of the moderate and deluxe resorts have bars and lounges in them where you can stop in and get a drink. And I think all the resorts have a pool bar where you can order drinks.

Downtown Disney also has a lot of bars, clubs and lounges to get drinks.

All the Disney resorts have bars or lounges (at the values, they are pool bars only). It is not necessary to make a reservation (nor can you make one for a lounge. Some lounges are attached to restaurants, some are not. Some restaurants have bar areas inside and you don't need a reservation just to go to the bar, but some bars are very small). Other than the value resorts or pool bars at deluxes or moderates, or adjacent CS like the one next to the Rose & Crown pub or the Hollywood Canteen next to the Studio Catering Company, there are no bars associated with CS restaurants that I can think of.

The world showcase is the best for this! We went all over and we're able to get drinks without ADRs

I thought the Tune In Lounge at 50's Prime Time was crazy at lunch time, but we had great relaxed cocktails at bar outside Chef Mickey's, Rose & Crown and at Biergarten. I was actually quite peeved when our CM buzzer went off and we still had to wait a good 15 min in the holding pen after our buzzer had gone off. Had I known that I wouldn't have chugged my wine.

We did drinks in May at the PTC Tune in Lounge. There were 4 of us, and we all loved our drinks! They were delicious, and you got the atmosphere of the restaurant without having to be apart of the 'act.'

There's a wonderful separate lounge, Mizner's, on the second floor of the Grand Floridian. Citrico's and Narcoossee's, also at the GF, have separate bars. The Yacht Club also has a cozy bar to left off the main entrance, and the Boardwalk has another nice lounge, Bellvue Room?, on its main level.

I've gone to Big River Grille on the Boardwalk before. The bar area is nice and they brew their own beer there that is quite delicious.

My favorite bar in the "world" is Tambu Lounge at the Poly! Great drinks...great atmosphere.

We also enjoyed the Territory Lounge in the WL. We had reservations at WCC and had a little wait, so we walked in there and enjoyed some drinks. I like that little bar, too!

The bar outside of Raglan Road in DTD (can't remember the name of it) is a nice place to grab a drink and people-watch.
