OK, enough of us have engaged this conversation that it deserves its own thread.

Thank you, thank you, thank you to those of you who kept me informed on the progress of the game.

As some of you know I'm stuck in the heartland - Nebraska to be exact... and it's raining, and I'm working 16 hours around the clock, and I only have five channels, and not one of them cares about basketball, let alone women's basketball, and I finally chatted with a friend in TN who confirmed what many of you said: last night's game was not an offensive free for all; it was all about defense.

But here's the thing: who doesn't love Candace, but my girl is Hornbuckle and little did I know, but instinctively, prophetically pronounced to my friend, "It was Hornbuckle, wasn't it? She won the game?" And, sure enough, she scored the last 2-pointer, to bring the game home. Sigh... oh yeah.

But we must move on ... so tomorrow night is it and unfortunately I'm stuck in a one-traffic light town with no sports' bars, so you all HAVE to come through and keep me as up to date as you can... OK? Promise?

I will be glued to the set again. I can only imagine that Pat Summit's girls got quite an earful after the last game. I am hoping that tomorrows game has a bit more breathing room. 0.7 seconds.....God, it still makes my bloodpressure rise just thinking about how close that game was, when it sure as heck didn't have to be.

Go Vols!

Viki,
We'll keep you updated.

I really hope Pat rallied them. In my opinion it was one of the worst final four games I can think of. If they don't rally and pick themselves up, Stanford has a shot. Not many can score 80+ on UConn. I wouldn't even say the game against LSU was defensive based. Both teams ate the clock. I saw more clock violations then typical for either team.

I'd love to write more now, but my migraine is still affecting my motor skills and this took me 5 minutes to type out.

Oh, gosh, I hope you feel better soon!

Yeah, my friend said it was a tough game to watch - for my part, in general, I don't like high scoring games, but the truth is I'm a baseball girl at heart so the whole up and back, up and back gets me a bit motion sick.. :)

I do like a good defensive game, but I hear you... apparently it wasn't quite that either.

I really wish I could watch it tonight but there's no way, so thank you keep me posted.

Hi Stacey...I suffer from migraines too. I am currently taking Maxalt..but it's only effective if I catch the migraine within 20 minutes or so. I'm one of those people who wait, thinking maybe it's a sinus headache, maybe it's tension, maybe it'll go away..oh no! I'm nauseas and I can't see straight...damn!

Hope you feel better soon...I know how bad they suck!

Too me it doesn't matter the score. I want a good finese game. I don't like the mens game becuase of the power jams. It's all about power, to me basketball is more of a finese sport. I am too a baseball girl, but I support as much of Womens NCAA and Title 9 as I can.

Viki, in exchange for scores, I'll take some prayers for peace (see below).

Thanks Rosie. Due to lack of insurance, I take T3 (or percocet) and Reglan. I luckily have only had a handful of full blown migraines. I too am bad at recognizing my migraines, getting better, but I missed the signs on the last doozy I had. I remember asking my Mother if the newspaper was blurry - She said NO. I then asked if the TV was blurry - again a NO. Then I got tunnel vision and thought I had eye strain. 10 minutes later agony. hours later my stomach kicked my butt too. Is there anything worse then the vomitting with a migraine.

My headache was componded by having a overall crappy day. My sister whom I am not close to decided to drink herself to death over the weekend. I was at Padalyns for the weekend and my Mother (my weekday housemate) was also away. My sister has been staying with us, due to that or a homeless shelter. My Mother, and I am not a parent so I dont understand, said she could stay on our couch. My sister also suffers mental illness along with the alcoholism and drug addiction. My sister drank upwards of 5 Liters of booze over the weekend. Including irreplaceable bottles I have purchased in travels in the past few years, along with gifts and quite a few lovely single malts and vodkas. Long story short, my sister in a stupor called my Moms friend asking for help. We ended up taking her to the crisis center in the ER. I went to support my mother. (for those in the know - five hours after bringing her to the ER her BAC was still over 300). At this point I have no respect, let alone love or like for my sister. She has lost any she had left. Please I don't care to hear it is a disease. She is a thief and a liar. She is an abuser and destroys everything she touches. It was frustrating when I got the headache, I had to go and remember where I hide my migraine meds. Last time my sister stayed here, she stole them from the medicine cabinet and other medications from my briefcase. Stepping off my soapbox. My head hurts.

Oh, Lord, Stacey you certainly have my prayers.

As for support, with someone as out of control as you describe there's no way you or your mother could fix it. Her behavior in as destructive as you describe, there is no excuse for it, and you have every right to feel exactly as you do. If someday she finds her way to recovery, she'll tell you exactly the same, taking responsibility for her past.

 Sorry Stacey. I can do nothing more at this point than pray for you and quietly wish your :headache: away.

Try to enjoy the game. popcorn::

National Anthem sung
Starting Lineups introduced
Starting tip off to Tenn

Bobbit has hit 2 3pointers. Candace had a steal first commercial Tenn 12 Stan 7

Tennessee 17 Stanford 10 after the jumpshot by Stanford. Stanford's ball. 11:08 left in the first.

This game has been really good. Tennessee is playing much more true to form, but I have still seen better out of them.

Half time, up by eight! Thank you all and I hear that the Vols are playing better, it not up to their usual snuff.
