Can't believe I haven't seen a thread about the NCAA National Championship game tonight.

As an Indiana native and a former resident of Indianapolis, I have to say -


GO BUTLER!!!

What a story! A tiny (4,200 student population) school ending up playing for the national championship right in their own back yard!

A college version of "Hoosiers" - a tiny David going up against a huge basketball powerhouse Goliath: Duke.

Can't wait for the game tonight!!!

Duke has been on fire. If they play as well as they did Saturday night then they will be unstoppable. Butler needs to have every player play the best game of his life or it will be an ol' fashioned whipping.

We will be cheering on Butler. Our old babysitter graduated last year from Butler. She's now doing her under grad over at Purdue. She and her sister are both there and over the weekend, they said that the Purdue students are cheering for Butler.

While Butler may be the crowd favorite, it will be the battle of their lives, I think.


Oddsmakers are putting them at a 6.7 point disadvantage.
And Duke played a lights-out semifinal game against West Virginia, while Butler was somewhat mediocre against Michigan State.

But here's hoping Butler can pull of just one more miracle!!!

My whole family lives in Indy. They say it is crazy there right now.
My lucky BIL got to go the other night and has tickets (great seats too) for tonight!! He is soooooooooooo excited!!!!!!

I can't imagine Duke losing this game, but I'll certainly be a Butler fan for one night!

One really good thing you can say about this game is that it matches the two schools with the highest graduation rates. As much as I hate Duke, I respect its program and it appears Butler has the same kind. You could say the same thing about my team -- who is still national champs for a few more hours -- as it had the the third highest graduation rate of the teams in last year's tournament.

Yep, Broad Ripple will be rocking if the Butler can pull another rabbit out of the hat! A friend of mine is also the team photographer for The Bulldogs and will be looking for him on TV this evening for sure!

Too bad they aren't playing the game over at Hinkle!
