Ok, I may be a little premature here, but I am TOTALLY FREAKING out about this storm. Since we reside in southeast Louisiana and WDW is in FL, we may indeed have a problem with this one. The models don't look good at all. We are scheduled to depart 9/11 and return 9/16. I am so worried that we will have to postpone our trip and miss out on Free Dining. I will be sooooo sad. Is anyone else freaking out with me???

I hear ya! I live in Ocala FL and am not looking forward to Gustav either!

We live in Southeast LA too. I hate to wish the hurricane on anyone else but hope that we dodge another bullet. We are watching all the weather websites and are already starting to prepare just in case we have to evacuate.

My prayers go out to all of us in L.A.

I'm praying that Gustav will bypass us too. We live on the northshore and fortunately only lost some shingles for Katrina but so many of our friends lost everything. We did free dining last year and then went again for Mardi Gras so we aren't going this September. You will get to go! Have a great time.

I'm from Louisiana, too, and in the beginning I was thinking we would be doing Disney with Gustav. Now it looks more like Gustav will be visiting the house while we're in Disney! It's still to early to tell, but I'm not going to stress about it. We leave Friday, so before I go, I'm going to prep the house, just incase. We are going to bring our valuables to my parents house and pray for the best. Once it gets into the Gulf, its going to be bad news for somebody. I hate to see anybody deal with a hurricane, so we're just going to keep it positive and pray for the best. Rain or shine, we're going to visit the mouse though!!!!!

Yes I am totally with you. Especially since we are leaving in 3 days :scared1:

I know it is in Gods hands. There is nothing I can do to control it, so I am trying to keep that in mind so I don't get too worked up!!!

We leave the 7th and get there early. I'm not so much worried about Gustav for our WDW trip, but I'm more worried about the other tropical depression that is out there. Or at least it was yesterday when I looked at the maps. Ugh!

It will definitely make landfall before we leave for Disney, but I am just worried about the damage that it may cause and the possibility of airports being closed or somthing like that. I guess we'll see what Governor Jindel is going to order on Friday. New Orleans may be evacuated. That's not us as far as us needing to evacuate, it just closes the airport that we are using. I just have such a nervous feeling about it. I know that it is going to majorly affect someone though, and as much as we want our vacation, I don't wish it on anyone :goodvibes

I know! There are 2 more behind Gustav! :scared1:

I am hoping with I'm sure every costal family that this storm will fizzle. We live in Ohio so we don't know a hurricane and I couldn't even imagine.

We are scheduled to fly into MCO on 9/3 I'm not sure where Gustav will be or the effects on our trip but that is nothing in comparison.

Let's hope the winds change so to speak and Gustav and his follower friends blow out to sea.

I'm from Louisiana too. It's forecast to make landfall right here in Terrebonne Parish! I'm totally freaking out. We had enough from Katrina & Rita! Go away Gustav!

This is a prayer that we say during the Hurricane Season:

Oh God, Master of this passing world, hear the humble voices of your children.
The Sea of Galilee obeyed your order and returned to it's former quietude. You are still the master of land and sea, we live in a shadow of a danger over which we have no control. The gulf like a provoked and angry giant, can awake from it's seeming lethargy, overstep its conventional boundaries, invade our land and spread chaos and disaster.

During this hurricane season, we turn to you, O loving Father. Spare us from past tragedies whose memories are still so vivid and whose wounds seem to refuse to heal with the passing of time. O Virgin, Star of the Sea, Our beloved Mother, we ask you to plead with your Son on our behalf, so spared from the calamities common to this area and animated with a true spirit of gratitude, we will walk in the footsteps of your Divine Son to reach the heavenly Jerusalem where a stormless eyernity awaits us. Amen

Lovely prayer! :goodvibes I hadn't hear that it is possible to make landfall in Terrebonne, that is directly south of us. We are in Ascension! :scared1: I am just hoping that it will continue on it's crazy path and hit Mexico instead......I applogize if I am offending anyone in Mexico or from Mexico, we just really don't need another storm :)

yeah still waitin here also...im from st. martinville (just east of lafayette). i sure cant afford to miss more days of work...im saving for my trip in a month.
hope for it to fizzle... but everyone knows whos been in a hurricane, those warm gulf waters are like adding fuel to the fire. google national hurricane center and click on gustav...it gives you the 5 day probability and all that good stuff.
stay safe yall

Yeah, looking at the 5 day forcast for Gustav makes me sick!

We're in Louisiana, too. I'm hoping Gustav stays away. You can't even buy jugs of water at several stores in town, although I was able to get some bottled water. (I'm sure they'll restock soon). People are preparing well in advance this time. I guess all we can do is pray and get prepared!

I'm sorry neighbors. I was in the water today and it's about 20 degrees colder than the few days before Katrina, hopefully not enough heat to get really strong. Keeping vigil with you. We can get in within hours if anyone has emergency needs. PM for my cell phone.

Sending prayers your way too, I hope that everyone is spared! It's still so far out to tell what is going to happen, we are prepared for the worst though! Just waiting. :thumbsup2

I will definitely be saying prayers for all Gulf Coast people! Gustav does not look good. I just pray the waters cool and the storm fades away.

Now I'm worrying seriously about Hannah! We are supposed to fly out to WDW in 9 days, and the way the projected paths are looking, it just doesn't look good at all. I pray it turns way north and heads out to sea instead of heading straight towards FL like they think it will.

I'm in Baton Rouge. I know we're pretty safe here. Probably only going to lose power. Lost it for a week for Katrina - and I was 8 months pregnant!!! We are leaving for WDW 4 weeks from today and all I keep thinking about is what if this were happening the week of our trip! I can't imagine how worried PP must be. I am praying hard that it all works out. There are really no winners in this situation. It's got to land somewhere! I just hate this "sitting duck" feeling. Good luck to all the Morgan City and surrounding area DISers out there!!! Lots of prayers coming from BR.

Not to mention LSU's first game is this Saturday! No one's even talking about htat. Gustav - Go Away!
