Go Away Gustav

We are right outside of Jackson, MS. We are scheduled to fly out of here on 9/3. I'm not worried about WDW, but what will happen while we are gone. And, if the models are anywhere close to being true for Hana, we will be leaving WDW when she gets closer.

I am with you on this! We are in Southeast Texas and I am starting to get a little nervous. We took a direct hit from Rita and I do not want to deal with anything that like again.

Go away Gustav!!!

I go to Disney on the 5th, Hanna doesn'y look good at all, I am from the Uk so not experienced many hurricanes, But scary for me, Hope it blows back out to sea, but somehow I don;t think its going to,
Anyone any info on which way this may go? or is it too early to tell?

It is still way too early to tell - It could go anywhere at this point - let's hope it goes back ou to sea!

I thought as much, I would rather it go back out to sea than hit another part of the US, wouldn't wish it on anyone

Yes, they are no fun to deal with and I wish them on no one as well. I have got my eye on Gustav right now. Hoping it doesnt hit us!

I'm hoping it goes away too. I am worried about Hanna. I leave on the 12th and I am really considering canceling. I was talking to someone who lives in Fl today and he said if it was him, he would look into it. They have no idea where Hanna is headed and it doesn't look good.

Here is hoping the all blow out to sea, and that everyone stays SAFE!!!!

Latest coordinates have Gustav making landfall around Morgan City, La. This is west of us, but not good news. That will put us on the east side of the storm, which is worse. That is the side that gets all of the bad weather and hurricane spun tornadoes :sad2:

we will be on the east side also. :scared:
luckly my sister and bro in law have their whole house hooked up to several generators, cause we would for sure not make it in the dark and sweatin like pigs :scared1:

Traffic is a nightmare everywhere and they haven't even started contra-flow. My DH and FIL left out this morning around 5:30am to go and secure and prep our camp in Grand Ise. They got home this afternoon and he said that coming home it was bumper to bumper going to Grand Isle and leaving. :scared1: I just hope that maybe Gustav will just go away! Now we have to watch Hanna too. We are supposed to be flying into Orlando on 9/11!

My best to all of you! I hope and pray that you will not be affected by the storms. I may not understand hurricanes being from Ohio, but I have seen the aftermath firsthand. I was in the OBX a week after a hurricane blew through in fall of 03. Seriously devestating! Here's hoping the water is cold and winds falter!

:goodvibes :grouphug:

I am in New Iberia and it doesn't look good for us either. I REALLY don't want to leave but I think we have to. We are going to Tyler Texas. I am surprised at how many people I know are staying home. Just pray for all the people who are staying, please. Things can be replaced I am so worried about lives. We had a death in the family yeaterday and so we are dealing with a funeral and prepareing for a storm. I have been at the verge of tears for two days now. I just wish I knew what is going to happen.

I am hearing worst case scenario for New Orleans? Anyone else hear this?

Dear heavens I hope they do a mandatory evacuation of these very unlucky people this time. How much can a person take? :confused3 This is just awful.

i dont blame you. my ex in-laws live there and they always flood for hurricanes. from the track now im surprised they havent done a mandatory evac. south of hwy 90 yet. contraflow should start tomorrow night i heard or early sunday morning. ugh...what to do? Rob Parillo says "not as bad as andrew, worse than lily, on par with rita" we stayed for rita but it was more west of me...this one looks right on with new iberia lafayette st martinville.

sorry about the death in the family

hey just heard on KATC...if your in the Acadiana area you will need to prepare cause its a comin...
that would be me and coteau chick for sure...mandatory evac in st. mary and lower st. martin (i am upper St. Martin)
worst fears are coming true.

My prayers are with all of you! We got hit by Fay here, the school board offices flooded badly and we were out of school for about a week. Lots of flooded houses, as well. We are worried about Hannah now. I hope the water, wind, and tornadoes stay far away from all of you!!!! :grouphug:

I actually live in coteau right off of capt cade road. One part of the road is st. martin parish a little further Iberia parish and just about a mile further is Lafayette parish. I am not south of 90 but my parents are. We also stayed for Rita not Lilly, and we went to Arnaudville for Andrew. I wish we could stay but dh won't let.
