Yeah....I'll take it!! :lmao:

Thank you!!!

Have any of you watched Dexter?

Katie- I can look for magnets for you in October but you'll have to remind me what you're looking for.

Oops, missed this one earlier! They were button magnets, not really certain what they had on them, I'll see if I can find a picture!

(Thanks Jackie for looking )

Ahh, here we go...thanks to Wigd...

I like the "dot magnets" but would take the "tear away magnets" as well!

I will be happy to search for them, Katie. I like having "missions" to complete while in the parks. So far, I've been pretty successful. I found your purse last year, a Princess Tiana thing for Paula's daughter. I'm no MeMom but I try! :)

I really wish I was going sooner. The next two months are going to DRAG.

Hey, Katie- when do you start work?

Hey Gnomies!! (Welcome Kels)

So I've been busy back at work! Been going to four days of professional development and meeting the teachers I will be working with! I'm really looking forward to it!! They have been so helpful and I'm going to really enjoy working with them!!

We close on our next week and I for one can't wait!! I really want to be out of this extended stay and in my new home!!!

Thanks C :goodvibes I know Jen and Leslie are not going to make a F&W trip this year...who else are you planning on meeting up with?

I technically start my new job on Aug 23 (the day before kids start) but I have a feeling I will be doing a lot of "other" work so I will plan to go in for a day or two the week before to do classroom work to prepare for students. In the meantime I plan on enjoying the next 2 weeks having fun with the kids. We are leaving Thursday early to head to Wisconsin, will have 3 full days there and return on Monday. After that I think we will try to make it to the zoo and maybe the state fair

Jen, I never saw a link for pictures of your new house...I want to see!

Hi Kels, looks like you are new to the Dis. You'll find a lot of great people around here!

I would like to see pictures of the new house too, Jen. Glad to hear you are liking the new school and your fellow teachers.

Katie - glad to hear you have a few weeks left. Jackie, MeMom and Wigd all going back so soon has been giving me chest pains. Have fun in the Dells if I don't talk to you tomorrow!

As for F&W, I believe MeMom will be there part of the time, Tracy (manntra) is arriving the day I leave so hope to see her briefly, a good friend from work and her husband will be there and we have plans to meet up at least for dinner at Le Cellier :woohoo:. And beyond that, who knows! Just hoping to relax and enjoy. I am ready for my welcome to WDW glass of champagne anytime now! :rotfl:

Welcome to the DIS Kels. As Katie said, there are some very nice people on these boards. Hope you enjoy. :)

:welcome:

Hi Kels!

I hate to say this.... but I for one am glad you teachers are going back to school :rolleyes1

Yay! I'll get some ME time again.... once the students (mine!) go back too!
not to mention.... I can't deny I'm jealous that you all get the summers off:rolleyes:

I :lovestruc you all!
Paula

Thanks for the great welcoming everyone! :goodvibes

I know what you mean about wanting some ME time back ;). My parents and sister are teachers and I can't stand it when them call me to meet up for coffee or lunch in the middle of the day each summer. I always have to remind them SOME people have normal jobs that don't get a summer vacation! ... but then again, I can take vacation while all the kid-os are in school :thumbsup2

So it there anything I should know about this group or some DIS insight? I don't like being a newbie at things.

So it there anything I should know about this group or some DIS insight? I don't like being a newbie at things.

Well...I'll let everyone introduce themselves...

But in general... we've been hanging out here on the DIS together for what??? 2 years:scared1: Has it been that long?? But don't feel like that's a big deal... we've welcomed and added other new friends that have come along:thumbsup2

All Disney 'nutz' ... and a lot of us have either travelled together or at least met in person over the the last couple years.... Except for Stacy.... she's fromCanada, and I'm not sure if any of us have gotten to meet up with her yet :confused3 I know I haven't... and I'm DYING to meet her pet polar bear that I'm convinced that every Canadian has in their backyard ;)
I still need to actually meet up with Katie, Jen (MM), Jess, and LL too.... all of which I hope to meet sooner rather than later!

All together I think we'll have at least 10 trips to WDW this year alone... so you're in great hands for advice/ assistance of the DIS nature!

OK about me....

I'm a pharmacist in PA (the majority of the gnomies are all teachers... I'm in the minority... hence the jealousy:rolleyes1) I have 3 kids... the boy (15) hates WDW... so he never goes. My 2 DDs on the other hand love it and will happily go every chance they get! My DH likes WDW a lot... but not willing to go 2-3 times a year... so he usually stays home with the boy.

We own DVC at Animal Kingdom Villas...

I'm an amateur photographer and love to scrapbook.

wow...I'm pretty boring... I have no autobiography :rotfl2:

Paula

Thanks Paula!

I went back to the start of this thread but I'm only on page 10.... a full year behind  I keep wanting to comment on things that I'm sure you all wont remember or it has already been worked out. *Sigh* someday I will be all caught up.

Heres my mini bio:

I'm 25, live in Washington state and getting married next summer! I got the "crazies" for Disney about a year ago when I sent my Airman overseas for his first deployment and needed something to fill my time. We wanted to take a tropical trip together when he got home and we agreed on visiting his grandma in FL. About 2 seconds after he mention FL I had to ask how far WDW was from Grandma:rolleyes1. I work in a massive library so I checkedout a bunch of WDW travel books and got HOOKED. I bought a book with great pictures and descriptions and a bunch of little post-it notes and went to town (no writing in books when you work in a library - even if it's yours). Then I sent the book to DF with extra post-it's so he could mark his "must does" also.

Anyway.... I'm getting too detailed. He asked me to marry him the night before we left and had the best trip EVER:love:. Since then everything Disney makes me happy/cry/desperate to go back. :lovestruc

Is it bad that I'm happy my library has to take a furlough so now I can go on a road trip to DLR without wasting vacation time I've been saving for next summers wedding?:rotfl:

It's so nice to see a group of woman support eachother and be true friends. Maybe I've been watching too much Real Housewives :lmao:.

The first bit of advice I need is, How do I gett my full signature to show when I post? How can I get my tickers to be side-by-side?

Thanks Ladies! I can't wait to get to know you all!

ohhhh kels you'll fit in here well! :goodvibes

Congrats on your engagement :lovestruc And a BIG thank you to you and your DF for your service/sacrifices

I'm not sure how much sense this thread will make reading straight thru lol! We all have he tendancy to ramble and just talk about whats going on day by day. I'd be afraid to try to read all 200 odd pages!

Jackie and LL (aka Leslie) are AVID readers... so you'll come across pages of book discussions as you go ;) I love to read.... but I go in spurts. I'll read 4-6 books over 2 weeks... then not pick one up again for a month. Working in a library, I'm sure you will probably have lots to add to those discussions!!

I see you figured out your siggie.... looks fantastic!

P

Wow Kels, you are brave to want to go back and read our ramblings!! :lmao: Like Paula said, we bascially are a group of friends who use this thread to share our lives and support each other. I might suggest a better way to get a sense of us would be to check out our PTR's/TR's. the posts there are a little more of a snapshot of us rather than day-to-day mundanes!

Congrats on your engagement :goodvibes

I'm Katie...I'm a 30-something (although you might note I just attended my 20 year high school reunion so that should narrow it down :rotfl:) wife/mom/teacher. I live in Iowa with my hubby and 2 boys (ages 9 and 5). I have gone through several job craziness in the 2 years since our first thread began and recently got an offer at the high school in the town where I live so I'm sure you will find me sharing a lot as I begin this new step in my life!

And oh yes...and here are my frustrations I need to vent today...

I need to first say I am grateful to be married to an incredibly handy guy! there is little he cannot do around our fixer-upper home except for a little electrical and plumbing work. Last winter we found an amazing deal on flooring and decided to buy all we would need to replace the hardwood on our main floor. So back in July, Greg started in the kitchen. After getting going, he decided the focus needed to change from getting the new floor down in all the rooms to completing all the work in the kitchen and I made peace with the idea that we would have unfinished floors in the other rooms for this next school year.

Let me tell you what Greg has done in the kitchen...ripped up cracked tile in the "food" area and put down new vinyl...repaired a couple large holes in the old floor in the "eating" area, nailed down all squeeks, and put down new flooring...put down new quarter-round trim including lots of difficult cuts around the very detailed trim work...tested a couple new paint colors for the trim (old color didn't match new floor), finally settled on a color and has begun painting...Took out the large picture window and repainted...took out both moving windows and replaced cracked glass, scraped old paint, replaced rope and fixed non-working counterweights, completely recaulked and painted then put them back together. Impressive huh!!

Well here's my issue. If you walk into our kitchen, you will notice the trim work is about 60% painted, he has not gotten to the crown moulding, doors or a 10 ft section of floor trim in the food area. So after doing all that work, why am I frustrated? Because this is typical Greg!! If you look around our house you will see dozens of jobs 90% finished  And suddenly on Monday he moved all the constuction things out of the kitchen and started cleaning the office. He has spent an entire day sorting CD's, a job that he could do any weekend of the school year! (and in the process, has moved several boxes out of the office and piled them in front of our fireplace)

We leave tomorrow for our mini-vacation, he has 3 days of meetings when we return, then there are only 5 unscheduled days before he returns to work AAAAAAAHHHHHHH~!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry for the long vent, I just want to see a job DONE!

Hi Kels!!

Let's see a little about me....

I'm almost 28, I've been married to Marc for a little over 2 years. I'm a Disney nut but I think that goes without saying. I work at a bank. :crazy2: Which I hate and I'm currently in school for Medical Assisting. Like Paula said, I love love love to read. I'm originally from Maine but living in Massachusetts for now since that is where Marc is from. After I finish school we are hoping to move to Maine. I can't wait to be back "home".

I'm really quite boring. :rotfl2:

Gnomies, we have to get ready to make a new thread. We are almost at 250 pages and that is when they shut us down. I nominate PAULA to make a new thread. ;)

Katie, I'm so sorry! That must be so frustrating. Marc isn't super handy but he's famous for the 90% done jobs all around the house. Like folding the laundry but just leaving it on the couch. DRIVES ME BONKERS. :headache:
