Gnomies Gone Wild

Well, we ended up with a half day today. We got to school and less than two hours into the day, it started snowing and our assistant principal was issuing a modified lunch schedule (by law once the kids are in the building, we have to feed them before sending them home). Then, soon after that, he made the announcement that we would be releasing at 12:00. Talk about complete craziness after that. Parents were checking out their kids at an alarming rate, and the kids that remained felt like they shouldn't have to do any schoolwork. I got home, did a few chores, and took a nap. Now we wait to see what the roads are going to do.

Jen (MM), the house is gorgeous!

Jen (JJ), hurray for telling your principal.

LL, you are ahead of me in the book reading so far this year -- I have read 17. ;)

Wow CP, what a crazy winter it has been! The sun is shining here and we are supposed to come close to 40 by the weekend. It makes me want to :dance3:

Hang in there CP! We have the Nor-easter on our doorstep now, lot's of high winds, heavy rain and flooding...will be awesome for working out in tomorrow!

Midterm is done! So glad that's over with, feel comfortable with it, just not sure when we'll get our grades. Our professor is still in Taiwan and spring break is next week, so will probably be at least 2 weeks. Oy!

Hey Gnomies!
How's everyone doing tonight? I'm jealous of the Cinco De Mayo trips...I wish I could extend mine! But since I get home April 30 and am back to Indiana for 12pm on May 1, that is out of the cards! It's gonna be a long couple of days! But worth it!

Stace, you mean you weren't being a good Canadian yesterday and staying home to watch hockey?

I know I know...I should have, especially since we won!!:woohoo: You should have seen the drunks around the country! People just went crazy! I was out for dinner with a "friend" in the evening and people were nutty!

Stacy- your love of the Olive Garden just tickles me. Glad you had fun! :)

:goodvibes It's like a drug to me! Imagine if they put an Olive Garden in MK!!! Whooooo Heaven!:cloud9:

I just read The Postmistress. I would compare it to The Memory Keeper's Daughter in the way that I kept waiting for it to get better. I don't recommend it but that is just me.

If you want, I can type out some of the books I've read this year. It will just have to wait until I get home because that is where my list is.

I would LOVE to see your list---especially if you have favorites on it!!!

I promise I will post some pictures of the interior of the model next time I am there so you can visualize it a bit more......we are in love with it!!!!

I would LOVE to see your book list too Jackie!!!

We might be inching near 50---makes me want to whip out the shorts!!!! I know......VERY premature on that one!!! ;)

I had a very nice surprise tonight.....I got a call from my mentor from my old school.....she is in the process of trying to create a position for me to go back there.......very interesting conversation we had!!!! :goodvibes

Good morning girls! :)

Jen (MM)- those homes look gorgeous! It will be fun to follow along in the process of building with you. And how awesome of your mentor to be trying to create a job for you! Fingers crossed that works out!!

Jen (JJ)- hurrah for telling the people you needed to tell. Full steam ahead for Austin, TX! I've seen a couple of specials on Austin over the last few weeks - looks like a really fun city!

Jackie - well a half day is better than a full day! Hope you weather is better today. We were near 50 yesterday but it is snowing this morning.

LL- I'd love to see your book list too.

Julez- can't believe there's a Twilight convention.

Jess- congrats on finishing your mid-term; I'm sure you did well!

Stacy- don't be jealous, you're going to WDW! Besides my trip is only tentative right now and I heard something yesterday that may make it a no-go. :sad2:

Half way through the week, ladies!!! :woohoo:

Morning Gnomies!

I'm exhausted today. :guilty:

Jen (MM) - I will type up some of my book list for you tonight. :goodvibes

I actually DID know there was a Twilight convention. I also know that in Forks, WA they give tours and such to tourists now. :rotfl2:

So I canceled my week long vacation in September to take some more vacation days for moving. I have this friday off. And then next week I have Friday off and then Monday/Tuesday off. Thanks GOODNESS. I still have so much to do and we are spending the night there for the first time next Thursday I believe. :scared1:

Hi gnomies....I'm tired. What a long day....

That's funny about the Twilight convention! I used to work at a sci-fi convention! But you should all come up to the one in Toronto! Kellan Lutz will be in attendance it says - yummo! :)

Here are some of my favorite books from this year...so far. ;)

1. The Bay at Midnight - Diane Chamberlain

2. Winter Garden - Kristin Hannah

3. Committed - Elizabeth Gilbert (Read Eat, Pray, Love first)

4. Secret Lives - Diane Chamberlain

5. Garden Spells - Sarah Addison Allen (Thank you, CP!)

6. The Stepmother - Carrie Adams (read The Godmother first)

7. Cypress Point - Diane Chamberlain

8. The Things We Do For Love - Kristin Hannah

9. Second Chance - Jane Green

10. House Rules - Jodi Picoult (I haven't finished it yet but I can't put it down!)

Thanks for the list, LL! I am so delighted that you liked Elizabeth Gilbert's second book. That's in my queue and I've been anxious to read it. I read an excerpt in a magazine and really liked it. I don't know if I've heard of any of the others but will definitely check them out!

I :lovestruc Committed. It made me feel good about my marriage if that makes sense. Well, it will probably make more sense when you read it. :rotfl2:

Geeze girl, how do you do it! I swear everytime I go to check the current book on LL's list, you've already read it and 3 others!

I love to read. Boy I can not wait until school is finished so that I can live a normal life and actually read a book in a decent amount of time. I started The Jungle by Upton Sinclair in....hmm, november? And I'm not even half way through! I can read quick, I just don't have the time for it. Come onnnn May!! :thumbsup2

Oooh, I remember The Jungle. I liked that book.

I just love to read. I always have. I'm trying to watch less TV so I have been reading more.

How are the gnomies today?

LL....thanks so much for the list!!! I can't wait to sink my teeth into some of those!

I am good this morning! I have a pretty calm day, which is FINE by me!!! The weather is turning so nice today and this weekend.....I'M SO EXCITED!!!! Hopefully some of this NASTY snow will finally melt all away!!!!

Hey Gnomies!!

I'm very excited today is my Friday! I have tomorrow off!!! Anyways turns out there will be 2 job fairs for teachers when I'm in Austin in April! I'm very excited about all of this!! So wish me luck!!!
