Gnomies Gone Wild

I bet it was busy because of the email I got today----free counter service dining from now until July 3rd. Hmmmmmm...................

I didn't get to tell you all over here that Tom and I DEFINITELY found the house we are going to build....after all these months of searching and scouring plans. We love it, and are in the VERY early stages of discussions with the builder. I know this is a long process, but we are hoping to be in it by this time next year. SO EXCITING......I will have to try to figure out a way for you all to be able to look at it........I will go work on this!!!

LL---thanks for the help with the Picoult books....I will take your suggestions and go from there. Do you think I will still enjoy My Sister's Keeper if a girlfriend of mine already ruined the twist to me?

Tentatively. If I were potentially, possibly, hypothetically to go.... I'd be looking at arriving on Wed 5/5 or Thurs 5/6 around noon and heading home on Sunday 5/9. I'd hope to stay in an Epcot resort... :rolleyes1

I *may* have booked a room only reservation, just in case...

-----------

Jen! Exciting news on the house. I'd love to see pictures/plans. Very interesting on the counter service. I didn't get the email. :headache:

Um...HELLO! Cinco de Mayo!!! Is there even a question here on which day to arrive?

:dance3:

Katie! Check your PMs woman! Where's this Cinco de Mayo drink off gonna go down? And C- those are my dates almost exactly! We are arriving the morning of the 5th and leaving the evening of the 8th!

Can you believe there is still availability for dinner in Mexico on cinco de mayo??? It's a sign.... :rolleyes1

And while I'm at it also no trouble with lunch at Chefs or a dinner at Flying Fish...

The universe is speaking... I am listening..... :rolleyes1

:rotfl: silly hubby came home and decided to do something on MY computer instead of his own...hrumpf!

Jen (MM) - HOW COULD SHE RUIN THAT TWIST! I'm horrified. If she wasn't your friend I would say she needed to be slapped. :rotfl2::lmao: You might enjoy it but I'm very much one of those people who don't like things ruined which is why I am insane about reading things in order.

C -- You are too cute! I hope you go on that trip! :goodvibes

I don't know the twist and it is in my reading pile so don't tell me!

Any thoughts on your first pick for your book club, LL? The DIS unplugged board just started one and picked a Michael Crichton (sp?) book.

Thanks. :flower3: I hope it works out too! Although I am ready to hop on a plane tomorrow and two months seems like a long time from now... :upsidedow

One day down and four to go, ladies!

It was SUPPOSEDLY an honest mistake----I was reading at the time a book that I think is called The Memory Keeper's Daughter (?!!?!?--it has been awhile since I read it) that she had given to me to read. She had just finished reading My Sister's Keeper and lent it out to another one of our girlfriends. The next time we saw each other I wanted to talk to her about the book---she thought we were getting into a discussion about My Sister's Keeper....and BAM---goes into this whole commentary on the big twist. To which I responded a little like this...........
 :scared1:   :sad2: could....not.....believe....she...did...that!!!!!! I was going to read that next, but felt much less inspired to do so. Maybe I will still pick it up at some point!!!! Still, I LOVE Picoult's writing style so far.....looking forward to the next one.

C----I hope you go too!!! I love how we all get so excited when another one plans a trip!!! It's like we each take a little piece of each other with us when we all go!!!!

C --- I won't give it away! No idea on the first book. I'm not quite sure how that all is going to work out either. Once I move, I'll have to figure it out.

Jen(MM) --- That is awful. I didn't like Memory Keeper's Daughter all that much either. I kept waiting for it to get better. I'm hoping my Jodi Picoult book will come today, I want to start it!

I don't have to work until 8:30 this morning, just 1/2 hour later since I'm staying 1/2 hour late to help train someone...but it's throwing my morning completely off.

Morning, Gnomies! I went to bed last night with our area under a Winter Storm Warning and woke up to a Winter Weather Advisory. I almost cried as much as Connor did -- so much for the dream of getting to stay home today. :(

Ugh. That's the worst! I remember the calculated gamble of "should I do my homework??" very well. I also remember losing the bet quite a few times...:rolleyes1 Stupid weather. :headache:

Awww Jackie...I'm sorry....here in Florida we close in anticipation however we are just getting rain no winter weather here!!!

C...YAY for "tentatively" booking a trip!! We have to get together soon and talk ADRs...with my busy schedule I think I'm just going to have you do all the ADRs and book them for two LOL!!!

Okay Gnomies, I told my principal yesterday and it went very well! I had no idea how much that had been weighing on me until I told her!! However now that roadblock is out of the way....I realize how much has to be done in the next 3 months and I have to admit its a bit scary for me! Finding a job (there is a job fair April 10th I'm going to go too have to get my application in by March 9th), Finding a house, selling my house, packing, well I'm feeling very overwhelmed. So saying that if I'm not around as much you know why...this gnomie is on a mission and that mission is to head to Texas with my head above the water!!!!

LL---I didn't like Memory Keeper's Daughter that much either----I was looking for it to have at least one redeeming moment......and NOTHING!!!!! Just made me feel like I hadn't wasted my time!!!

JJ---so glad that weight is off your shoulder......looks like we are going to be job hunting together!!!! GOOD LUCK dearie!!!

CP---so sad that you don't have a snow day---just means that you won't have to go one more day this summer---YEAH!!!!

C---Isn't it funny how cheap you can get a room when renting at times--even beating out a 40% off code is PRETTY good!!!!

Hey gang, who has read The Postmistress???? I know someone said they did, but couldn't remember who it was. My mom just mentioned the other day that that is going to be the next book she gets from the library, but I couldn't remember if you thought it was good or not.

Tom and I decided last night that we are going to fly out to LA on our trip out west, spend about 5 days there, and then renting a car--probably mini-van--and then taking about 4-5 days to drive back home....we want to hit some other sights on our way home. We are DEFINITELY excited. I think we will be going out there around the last two weeks of July---right around our anniversary. I am SURE it will be hot, but hopefully the dryness of their climate will be at least a little more manageable. So guess what I get to do today.......find the cheapest airfare and rental car deal!!!! Wish me luck!!!!

Here guys....here's the link to the house we are going to build.

http://www.fischerhomes.com/communities/planDetail.asp?s=3&c=58&p=115

We will probably either do the French Country or the Traditional elevation. We are also doing the Option Second Floor plan---and let me tell you, Megan has already made BIG plans for herself upstairs!!!! We are also doing both options of finishing in the basement---Tom still wants his Men Den!!! ;) When I get a chance to take pictures at the model, I will do so to share with you. It is SO pretty!!!! :)

I just read The Postmistress. I would compare it to The Memory Keeper's Daughter in the way that I kept waiting for it to get better. I don't recommend it but that is just me.

If you want, I can type out some of the books I've read this year. It will just have to wait until I get home because that is where my list is.
