Gnomies Gone Wild

Aw, thank you C! Things are ok, my mom is coming up to spend next weekend (or rather her last weekend) with me and help clean. She's the cleaning expert, the renter's office wants EVERYTHING cleaned, baseboards, fridge, blinds, the whole 9 yards, so she's helping to get me a head start-less to do come move in day. It's just been stressful trying to organize/pack and try and finish my thesis, AND pull 20 hours a week for my part time job, especially since Blake is living in Virginia now except for the weekends until we move. His job contract started early, I mean the pay check will help incredibly with all the fees due and rent is due Oct 1st, but man, it's hard trying to multi-task such large things!

Hope everyone is good and got some great labor day sales. I stepped out earlier today and treated myself to a new fall jacket. I had a $10 off Coupon at Old Navy so it was only $29 :goodvibes
 you all!

Hey girls!

Hope you all enjoyed your long weekend! We had fun with a picnic and football game on Friday and mini-trip on Sunday. Yesterday Patrick and I made a milk carton bird feeder and he and Greg made stilts (feeling a bit crafty I guess). I felt cruddy yesterday like I had a touch of a cold brewing. I don't feel too bad now but I am awake at 3:30 :confused3 Those in my family who suffer from sleeping issues (I've never been one of them but there are a lot who are including my mom and both brothers) would blame the nearly full moon. They claim that the issues are worse during this time. Ironically, Daniel is the one who woke me up 45 minutes ago and he is also still awake.

Any interesting tidbits from gnomie-land?

Jess, I hope you and Blake enjoyed a longer weekend together and did something other than prepare for the big move!

JJ and LL, I noticed new avitars...I like!

You know what I have decided I really enjoy having Mondays off...because I think getting through Monday to Tuesday is the hardest part of the week, after that its all downhill!!

So...HAPPY TUESDAY!!!

Katie...uggh to being up at 3:30am that is no fun!!!! I hope you are feeling better!!!

I went to bed way later than I would have liked therefore I didn't get up to workout this morning, but I'm going to walk the track after school and get my butt into gear tomorrow morning.

I had a great time shopping yesterday with my friend. I found some really great deals and even some special gifts that I'm very excited about!!!! Kept the damage under 60.00 so that's a success for me LOL!!!!

Well I hope you all have a great day!!!!

I do love my new avatar...Leslie found and helped me figure out how to get it posted in a proper format. Speaking of LL...have a great day going to visit your parents, enjoy your outing!!

Good Morning Gnomies!

Katie, sorry you were having trouble sleeping. I'm not a great sleeper so I know how frustrating it is not to be able to sleep.

See, I think Tuesdays are worse than Mondays. I hate Tuesdays. It's when you realize you still have most of the week until Friday.

As soon as Marc gets home I am off to my parents for the day. You would think I'm off to Disney with how excited I am. I'm just glad that I can get OUT of the house. :rotfl:

Good morning, Gnomies! Sounds like everyone enjoyed their long weekend. We have today off, too -- it is the first of the three furlough days before Christmas. So while it was awfully nice to sleep in this morning and know that I am going to scrapbook today, I know I will be missing the money I would have made today :(.

Have a great Tuesday everyone!

Sorry Katie, but no long weekend for me! Blake has been in Virginia since thursday, so I didn't even see him this weekend! He started his first day at his new job today and I spent the weekend in the lab and catching up on my part time job. I'm so so SO nervous about not finishing before we leave in 18 days, I really don't think I'm going to get done :confused3

Hey Ladies!

I hope everyone had a nice long weekend! :thumbsup2

Sorry I haven't been around much but there is a big big big change coming for me! My auntie and her 2 teenagers and their 2 dogs are moving in with me! Since she got divorced about a year ago, they've been living in a townhouse which is simply too small for everyone and it's really not in a great neighbourhood...so, since I spend so much time with them and have the house to myself...But there is a TON of work to be done! My mum and I have 16 years worth of junk built up in here! All the rooms but the laundry room are being painted and I'm moving back upstairs! I have hardly had a second to breathe and the house is full of boxes and garbage bags and recycling bags....So, I probably wont be around a whole lot between now and the end of October....but I did learn that my laptop has an SD slot so I will be able to post some pics when it's all finished! :)

LL - I hope you had an amazing birthday!! And congrats on all the weight loss so far! You're a rockstar!

So, what have I been missing in chat lately?

Hi gnomies!

How is everyone?

Jess- glad you'll have help with the move. Cleaning out the old place is always the worst!

Katie - sorry you're having trouble sleeping. I hate that. I just had a string of nights like that not long ago. Very frustrating!

Stacy- my goodness those are some exciting changes. Good luck getting the house ready!!

Jackie - sorry about the furlough day but hope you had fun scrapbooking. Were you working on a Disney page, by chance? I'm thinking I might try "digital scrapbooking" for the upcoming trip...

LL- how was your outing?

Jen- I agree. I wish all weekends were long weekends. It's already Wednesday. How cool is that??

Have a great day, everyone! :upsidedow

Good Morning Gnomies!

Stace, sounds like you have a lot of work ahead of you. I did have a really good birthday! Thanks.

C, your ticker is at 15 days! WOO FREAKING HOO!!

I have an appointment with the nutritionist today, I need to get my butt in gear if I'm going to leave on time but I am feeling lazy today.

I know! 15 days!! Woo freaking hoo, indeed! Good luck with the nutritionist today!! Can't remember where I saw your shoulder hurt but hope it is feeling better! :goodvibes

On Facebook. It doesn't hurt but it seems to start out okay and hurt worse by the end of the day the last few days. It's weird. Hopefully it will go away quickly.

I started Eat, Pray Love last night and I'm already HOOKED. I am bringing it with me to read while in the waiting room.

Oh I'm SO glad you like it. You know when you like something so much and you just want others to like it too? Kinda like the Brown Derby and we were so worried about whether Jackie would like it? Hope you continue to enjoy!

I loved Eat, Pray, Love as well, when I read it a couple of years ago! I had to go to Publix and buy tiramasu because of her descriptions of Italian food.

I am reading a book that I think you would like, LL -- The Physick Book of Deliverance Dane. I am having a hard time putting it down. It is one of those dual stories -- part of it is set in Salem during the Witch Trials and the other part is about a graduate student who is spending the summer fixing up her grandmother's old house. I think it is going to be very creepy before it is over -- the other neat thing about it is that the author is a descendent of two of the women involved in the trials.

Bummer...I just burnt my popcorn...I was looking forward to it LOL!!!

Happy Wednesday...I know the week is almost over how great is that...and next week is a 4 day week for me too...I have a inquiry based lab workshop I'm going to!!

Stace...what exciting times you are having at your house!! Good luck with the move in!!!!! We miss you around here!!!

Jess....I'm also happy to hear you will be having help with the move, that will make things much easier!!!!

All you ladies and your books are really intriguing me but I just don't seem to have the time...of course you can make time for anything...I guess I need you guys to help me...what is the one book you would recommend for me to read (and yes Jackie...list only one LOL).

15 days...that means I'm only like what 17/16 days....deep breath I will think happy thoughts not manic thoughts of all I have to do!!! I'm so excited but I'm entering that must kick it into gear mode LOL!!! The days are going to pass by before we know it!!!

LL hope you get some good news from the nutritionists...are you getting weighed?? Can't wait to hear what your loss would be this week!!! YAY!!!

Oh yes I totally understand what you mean. That is how I feel about Time Traveler's Wife. I just gave it to my mom to read and I hope she LOVES it.

I saw that you mentioned that book on another thread...no idea where but I have it written down. I am hoping that I can get to the bookstore this weekend. I want that book and John Adams. :thumbsup2 Marc & I want to go to Salem before I go back to work so I need to get reading it! :rotfl2:

The weight loss didn't go well this week. BAH. They warned me though last week when they weighed me since I introduced "real" food into my diet. So I've lost 29.2lbs total which is still AWESOME so I am trying to focus on the positive. :thumbsup2

BAH! I just typed a long message then lost the connection when I hit "submit"

Let me summarize:
  • I have been up since 3:30, I hope this isn't a trend!
  • I am worried about Patrick. He says school is too hard (he is a super bright kid and things have always been easy for him so now if he doesn't do things perfectly the first time, he feels like a failure). We have had some tough mornings getting to school. He knows I'm home which doesn't help I think.
  • I am going to focus this week on getting credentials to local districts for subbing. We finally figured out a back up plan for the boys so hopefully I can bring in some money!

I was good to hear from you Stace! Sounds like exciting changes going on.

Everyone have a great Thursday!

Good Morning Gnomies,
I do not have any kids this morning until 11am...of course I should be using this time to getting caught up on grading..we'll see what happens!!

Katie...I'm sorry you were up again so early...that stinks. I also hope this isn't a trend!!! I'm excited that you are working towards getting certified to sub I'm sure that will help at home! I know Phillip subbed for a whole year before teaching and that really helped!!! Good luck!!!

So its Thursday which means tomorrow is Friday and I have no plans this WEEKEND...aren't those the best weekends...that means I'm going to make a major dent in my to-do list..oh yes I am!!!!! I also have to clean house LOL!!!!

I have done some major planning at school and I actually have lesson plans through 10/06 and my sub while I'm gone for vacation came by today and we discussed what I left for her and we are all set...if my kids thought they were going to have it easy..they are in for a rude awakening LOL. I have 2 activites, a lecture, and a lab demostration all planned for that week...my kids will be busy and I'm not going to worry...I have been told I'm not allowed to even think about my students while I'm gone LOL!!!!!

Well hope you are all having a great week!!!!

I decided I needed to go pick up some new clothes this morning. I am one of those strange women who don't particularly like shopping, especially for clothes. Boy, maybe I should do that more often, it might force me to get my butt to the gym!

I also got a call this morning to sub tomorrow at the school where Greg teaches (biology). I need to psych myself up I think!! Wish me luck.

Good luck subbing tomorrow, Katie! I think a plan to get credentialed in all the surrounding towns/districts is a good one. I'm so sorry Patrick is having a hard time with school. I HATED school as a kid. Looking back I think maybe I had (maybe still have) an anxiety disorder especially around social situations. I used to worry and worry about getting picked for teams in gym class, who I'd sit with at lunch, oral reports, getting called on etc. etc. I don't wish that on anyone so hope that you're able to get to the root of things and help him feel better about school. :goodvibes

Jen- your weekend sounds great. Minus the cleaning part. ;) I expect to be doing lots of Disney related stuff this weekend. TWO WEEKS FROM TODAY!!!!

Jackie - that Salem witch trial book sounds intriguing. I'm going to check it out!

LL- don't get discouraged with the weight loss. Visiting Salem would be fun. Especially around Halloween!!

For my Twilight gnomies - anyone try that new vampire show that was on last night? I recorded it. Hope it is worth watching. :confused3

Happy Friday!!!
