I am having a gnat problem at my office.:confused3 I have noooo idea where they are coming from. I told everybody that food or surgary drinks are not allowed til we get rid of the problem. I made everybody check their drawers for anything bad. Any ideas?:confused3

Do you have plants? Sometimes bugs will lay their eggs in the dirt of plants.

Are you sure they're gnats? I thought I had gnats, turned out to be fruit flies, they were breeding in an onion I had left on the top of our refrigerator. *(gross, I know). Once we threw out the onion the fruit flies disappeared but they were a problem for a few weeks before I realized the source.

Like the above poster said, check your plants, also drains, any moist areas are breeding grounds for critters like that. And make sure no one has any apples, bananas, etc laying around on their desks. Try googling "gnat problems" or "fruit fly problems" and you'll find some helpful ideas on how to locate the source, that's what I had to do.

Good luck, I know how annoying a problem like this can be. :rolleyes1

I have tons of plants!!! I just had 30 banana tree plant things :confused3 delivered to the office!! Plus some ivy and other things!

So you are also looking for the source of an odor? :confused3

(I hope the little little buggers go away soon for you)

Yes, I have been smelling everything. I have smelled and checked everybody's drawers and their cans. Nothing:confused3 Maybe it is the plants.:confused3

I'll bet you anything this is the source... not sure how to fix it. Maybe there is some sort of chemical you can sprinkle into the soil to kill the eggs? Maybe call a local plant nursery and ask? :confused3

Yep I would say that's the problem. And I think tynkerbell's suggestion is a good one.

Last winter I was sitting in the living room and a mosquito landed on me. :confused3 I went looking and found that one of the plants we have in the living room that is not potted, it's in a vase of water, had mosquito larve in it. :scared1:
