GMC Envoy XL??

Does anyone have a GMC Envoy XL? I am looking at rental cars for a WDW trip for 7 of us (4 adults, 3 kids). I'm afraid a 7 passenger minivan (which is affordable) won't be big enough for us or our luggage, but the 8 passenger minivans cost way more than just 2 rental cars. The price for the Envoy XL isn't too bad.

How are the Envoy XL's laid out seat-wise? Could we fit 7 of us in there plus our luggage?? Probably 4 big suitcases, 3 small ones, and 3 or 4 smaller duffle bags. My mom has an Expedition, and I know there's no way we could fit all that in. Maybe the XL Envoy is bigger ?

This is funny! I am renting an Envoy XL in June for 7 adults and was wondering the same thing. I'll bump this up for an answer for both of us (hopefully). I do believe the Envoy XL has an extended back.

It's smaller than the Expedition - I think you would have more room in a mini van.

I have the same problem and believe the Envoy is too small. I think what you would need is a Yukon XL or Chevy Suburban.

If all 7 seats are up..there is very little room left for luggage. Perhaps 2 suitcases and a couple of carry ons on top of them. Rent a BIGGER mini van!

EVen then, it will be tricky. Trust me, been there done this!

Well, we rented a mini van this past Jan in FLL. We were only 5 ladies. At the beginning of the cruise we had a Dodge Caravan but it was extended and was fine. At the end, we could only get a regular Caravan and it didn't fit all of us , so we had to rent a small car too! These vehicles are deceiving.

Unless you can get a full size Van..ie: a Safari .the Yukon or Suburban might be better. I know Budget do some really big Vans?

The Envoy XL is the pits for baggage.

I have an Envoy but not the XL but when we were looking I did look at one & when the seats are up there is limited room although there is a shelf so you can "put your groceries on" per the salesman.

I love the SUV & it is nice & comfy.

Will they let you store stuff on the luggage rack?

The shelf is small. If you have maybe 2-3 small bags, you might get away with it. MIGHT. When I do groceries, I have to use a seat or two as well as the back or flip down one or two seats to have more space in the back. As for the roof...I have never even looked up there! Not sure what there is to tie onto?

The ceiling is low from the midsection back in order to accomodate the two rear seats and the higer floor back there. I have this vehicle and would NOT consider renting it!

I have an envoy xl and yes it is short on luggage space, but it is roomy for us. However with so many adults, I would go with an extended length Yukon or Expedition. We drove it to Fl last December and it is a great traveling car. I will be putting our luggage on top for our summer trip. My minivan was larger as far as wider, but the luggage space was not much better.

The 8 passenger mini-vans from National will fit all of these people and their luggage! We rented one this past fall. We had 3 adults, a baby in a carseat and 3 older kids in booster seats. We fit absolutely no problem. We got a Toyota Sienna which had TONS of storage space in the back. We fit 4 suitcases/large duffels, 4 carry-ons, a large diaper bag and a stroller. Even all of this did not fill up the back. There is a very large "well" that holds plenty then you can stack on top. We were able to get ours for about $320 for a week using a discount code.

We have an Envoy. There is NO WAY we could fit 7 people and luggage in it. Ours is about a year and a half old, so maybe they are different now.

That is what I am ideally hoping to get. However, the 8 passenger vans right now even with the discounts I'm finding on Mousesavers are running over $900 when all the extra fees and taxes are added on. And with some of the coupons, rate codes, etc, the 8-passenger vans disappear from the list of vehicle options . I don't know if maybe it's because we're flying into Tampa instead of MCO . (Airfare was waaaayyy to much into MCO for our dates ).

I know prices will go down and better "hot deals" and such will come out, but I want them now . We could also always rent 2 cars, but then we run into more parking fees, tolls, etc. Plus our friends have never been to WDW, and I really hope to ride together.

I have a Toyota Sienna, it seats 7 but the 8psg version is the same size. There is plenty of space for luggage in the back. I'm doing a longer trip this summer and might have more people so plan on possibly getting a topper to put luggage in.

Maybe just find out what type of van the company rents. I do have more room than some of the other vans I've seen.

Does anyone know how the Chevy Uplander compares to the Toyota Sienna? I never get the Sienna up on the National website

We´ll be 2 adults, 4 kids and A LOT of luggage + 1 or 2 strollers.
