Gmax Bday Trip: Expect the Unexpected! "Closing Time" Pg 15

Soon we approached The Haunted Mansion! This is has become one of my favorites, because I always notice something new each time I ride it! I don't know why, but riding this at night is extra fun. Maybe it's how scary the mansion looks!

On the way out of the Mansion we all slowed down to look at the pet cemetary, and read more head stones. This is one of the best attractions at MK!

We then headed off to ride Thunder Mountain. Again, if you like this ride, you will LOVE LOVE LOVE it at night! It is a HOT MESS!!!! HA! We screamed giggled, ducked, and slid our way through the mine!

I then braved Splash Mountain once again. Unfortunantly, Kim still couldnt be convinced to ride it. Believe me, I've been afraid to ride it since I was a kid, so I understand her fear. But to all the ride chickens out there like me, it really is true: the drop on Splash looks AND sounds worse than it is. It's like a longer version of the drop in Pirates. I don't get that yank/drop feeling in my stomach when it goes down. So give it a try, you WON'T regret it!

This time, I didnt want to look like a DORK, so I just put on Candice's jacket that had a hood. Well . . . we got soaked. So since I only had on the jacket, my whole butt was soaked down to my undies! Ewww! Next time, I'll just be dorky Gmax!

petesnite001b.jpg

Well, being wet in 70 degrees was enough for me, so we headed out of the park. We checked in at City Hall, and once again, LaMagique was on Break! We couldn't believe - so close yet so far!

That night, being so damp and chilled from SM, I asked Kim with PLEADING eyes to please let me turn off the ceiling fan till I could warm up. I thought I would DROP DEAD with the look in her eyes!!! But I was freezing! The next day, Candice told us that she even turned the heat on in her room!

It was yet another fun day! But Kim's last.

Day 4 - Monday, June 8th

On Monday morning, when I headed out to meet Pete - who was picking me up to go to EPCOT - Kim was heading out to meet the Magical Express (ME) to go home. She was not ready leave and had a great time meeting everyone. We had LOTS of laughs together. In fact, I forgot to mention what happend the day before:

You know how when you're on vacation, you lose track of what day it is? Well I asked Kim if it was Sunday. When she said that it was, I told her that I something we could watch while we were getting ready. Since I'm used to going to church on Sundays, I wanted to bring a little "church" with me. Well, I put in the concert DVD, Donald Lawrence & The Tri-City Singers: Grand Finale.

grandfinale_dvd_md.jpg

Well, by the time it got to the song "Encourage Yourself", we had both teared up so much, and I was trying not to SCREAM in that room. You can see a clip of the song here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c6yhgFxDQMw

After awhile Kim looked at me and we both started laughing! I told her that in a minute, I was going to be running up and down the halls of the Lodge! So just a little word to the wise: Try not to have too much church on your vaca, or you might get escorted off of the premises! HA!

Well, Kim and I were soon both on our way: Home and EPCOT.

IMG_4887.jpg

We said our goodbyes, and I got in the car with Pete to go to EPCOT.

After we'd gotten through securtiy, we met up with Antss and Candice, and headed over to Soarin.

IMG_4899.jpg

IMG_4902.jpg
IMG_4905.jpg
IMG_4907.jpg

We acted a FOOL in line! We had so much fun.

IMG_4909.jpg
IMG_4911.jpg
IMG_4912.jpg

While in line, I heard a female CM giving instructions, but when I turned around, it was a young man. I thought I would PASS OUT! I couldn't stop staring at him! So of course they all got a kick at me reacting to him every time he spoke!

Finally it was time for us to "board" - we got the top row! I love the pre-ride film.

IMG_4914.jpg
IMG_4913.jpg

I love Soarin, and wish that I could have it installed in my house! After leaving Soarin, we walked over to Nemo, and got some cool shots along the way . . .

I know this ride got bad reviews here on The DIS, but I really like it. Especially Crush's part! And I think the "clam-mobiles" are cute!

IMG_4926.jpg

We then took a nice stroll across EPCOT for our next adventure . . .

Go to Pg 8!

I totally agree, always take a picture of where you parked, my family learned that the hard way. :headache: Thank goodness for the car alarm button, makes it a bit easier to find the lost car.

I used to think my car alarm would help too - until I was too far from the car to hear the beep!

Antss sent me the link to your TR. We met briefly that Saturday night in th WS. I was with Ants, Angwill, and a couple others. This was my first chance to meet fellow Dis'ers and I had a blast. I remember you from Candice's TR. Just read your whole TR and now I am trying to remember what all I wanted to comment on. Love the video of the hotel lobby. The resort is beautiful.

I think we saw that guy leaving DHS that you took a picture of. I remember thinking he must have been extremely hot! We swung through DHS before dinner and Epcot that day.

I haven't really reserached AI, but now I want to check it out.

Oh, and I am also in the Tampa area. Looking forward to reading more.

Hey! I remember meeting you! Glad you found my report - hope you'll like the rest!

Hi Glenda! You are so dependable. You get straight off the plane and start your Trip Report.:wizard:

I have to be! My memory is aweful! Thanks for posting! (now do it again)
_____________________________________________________________

Yay! Another great installment, chock full of helpful hints, too! The sports bra suggestion for Test Track was awesome! LOL I've never driven to the parks before, but will absolutely take a picture of my area/spot if ever I do. Heck, that idea will likely be used at other places as well. :thumbsup

Yes! I did it on Saturday when we parked for a Baltimore DISmeet!
______________________________________________________________

Gotta love the single rider lines! DH & I use 'em sometimes and still usually end up together on the rides!

That Dino ride pic was HILARIOUS.

Why Thank you! I do my best to look absolutely crazy for these reports! pirate:

Yeah :cheer2:, another Glendamax report. I read your last two and absolutely loved them. My all time favorite is your report of the hot guys at DHS. The girls in my office loved that one the day I was reading it :rotfl2:.

In one of your post, you mentioned that you could see the other parks from Everest. I always look to the right so if I look to the left, can I see the others? Have you ever done Everest at night? If not, do so the next time you have a chance. My family did in November and the ride is wonderful at night and the view of the park is fabulous.

Look forward to the next update,
Erika

Hey Erika! Glad I could make you laugh at work! On Everest, I thought to the right was AK, and to the left were the parks. Maybe I'm remembering it wrong?

And yes, I have done EE at night! It's CRAZY!!!
_______________________________________________________________

LOVE the TR!! Thanks for taking the time so we all get to share the fun.:goodvibes

Oh Thank you, and you're welcomed! Hope you get to read a bit more!

No plans for next b-day as of yet but my older sister is trying to plan a Halloween trip for next year. She wants some of our Disney lovin' cousins to go with us and we are trying to get our other sister, her husband and their son (our adorable nephew who is now 3 and LOOOOVVVVEEEESSS Mckey!) for his first WDW trip. I do think though if I do spoil myself with a trip it is so going to be in winter! The heat was so hard for us this last time (we're from the Chicago area and we had 50 degree days up until we left!).

I am such a movie nut it really depresses me they don't do more with that park! I had a blast with the Star Wars stuff but a geek like mee needs more! It's just sad comparing Universal to MGM.

And if WE compare the 2, look like the Disney execs would too!
The heat last week was excessive! The only thing about traveling in the Winter though, is getting snowed in at either end!

:banana:Yea another Glendamax report. Thank you!!!!

Thanks for reading and posting! Hope you enjoy the rest!
____________________________________________________________

All those Disers!!! Fun!:thumbsup2:rotfl: The main lesson learned from this update.......if you're driving,
take a picture of your parking space!:rotfl:

That's Right!
_______________________________________________________________

I will be tuning in to read your report, I just found it. Love your TR's:banana:

Thank you! Let me know what you think of the latest installment!
_________________________________________________________________

Thanks again everyone for reading and posting! Looks like I still attract a bunch of Lurkers though: Lots of views, little responses. So thank you! It feels good to know that I'm NOT talking to myself!

Hopefully, I'll have the next installment up tomorrow!

The Splash Mountain picture is great!

Losing track of time on vacation - isn't that a wonderful thing?

We're eating Cape May Buffet breakfast this summer. It'll be our first time there.

You were acting a fool in line?
Can't imagine!

Bringing 'church' with you.
You are a good girl. :thumbsup2
I'm going to watch the youtube clip after while.

If you find someone to put your own personal Soarin' in your backyard, send them to me next. The cost doesn't matter. I'm clearing the land now!
Love that ride. Love it!

Have a good Monday. This is Day One of the last week of summer school! :cool1: Then it's church camp, a couple of workshops for school, and off to Disney World!

Did you see the DIS meet picture we put up on our TR? It was a great meet. I'm thankful for the new friends we've met through the DIS!

MeMom's Post prompted me to copy my post about the Baltimore meet I attended on Saturday. Take a look!

Hey everybody! I really enjoyed meeting everyone on Saturday! Here are my pics:

Of course I took a pic of our parking space:

We felt like true tourists on the way to Phillips Restaurant. For those passing by, Antss even declared, "I'm so excited, this is my first time in this country"!

We even tried to hook Klofan up with the waitress. She had a cute navy bow in her hair . . .

IMG_5513.jpg

For dessert, PirateMel baked 2 different flavored cupcakes. Thanks so much for schelping them around with you all day for us!

IMG_5514.jpg

After lunch, we had to say goodbye to Sha! (She has GORGEOUS hair!) She had a long drive back to Florida ahead of her that weekend. Sha I hope we get to visit England together someday!

IMG_5515.jpg

We walked around the Harbor towards The Aquarium and took in some of the sites.

IMG_5516.jpg
IMG_5517.jpg

Candice was on a surgar high and did a Karate kick! Watch out Antss!

I didn't see your DISmeet pics - will take a look for them! :surfweb:

Hope you have a GREAT week!

More great updates. We love Haunted Mansion at night also. Just rode it Saturday night and I also notice stuff I haven't noticed before everytime I ride it. Same for Thunder Mountain, much better ride at night. PoTC seems better at night also.

Love the Splash Mountain pic. My favorite ride!

Thank you for the youtube clip. I'm ready to start my day.

Love the Inner Harbour. We lived in Rockville, MD 5 years ago and made many trips to the Harbour. Hope I get to go back one day. Those cupcakes looked great.

Saw Antss is heading back to WDW in July, are you also? We will be there with my best friend and her family the same time.

I listened to the "Encourage Yourself" as I read. Don't do that. Now I have to stop reading and go out and DO something!

Glenda you know how to make me giggle- the dinosaur picture:rotfl2: And that photo from last time on splash with the poncho- you're all eyes in that picture and it's so very very funny especially when you are trying to convince people it's not that bad.

Great report. I've got to go change the world now.

HEY! Glad the both of you were able to enjoy the clip!

JM - I'm not going back in July. My next booked trip is the week before Christmas :)

And since you liked "Encourage Yourself", try looking at the other song we watched,
"These Nails" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fZEyiyMKlSI

Have a GREAT, Blessed Day Everybody! See ya Tonight!

This gave me such a laugh! I'm going to send this quote to my sister because she will love it: "Try not to have too much church on your vaca, or you might get escorted off of the premises!"

Thanks for posting that Youtube video. I'm over here tearing up from that song too, but I think the lack of coffee is preventing me from running up and down the halls of the lodge. Instead I'm downloading that album off of amazon. Hopefully it will keep me fired up all day at work.

Happy Belated Birthday Glendamax!!!!:flower3: Just got here and got all caught up - nice to follow along on your adventures again.

And Dude - Crush totally rocks! We liked the Nemo ride, too.

I forgot to mention that on our way to the gift shop, we saw "the door" from Monsters Inc!
No way?! I've never seen that - very cool!

So with that, I sent it back, and ordered what Rebecca had: Oven-baked Chicken alla Parmigiana - Served over spaghetti. - $16.99.
How was the chick. parm.?
The server soon came back to the table and told me that my first order was split between 2 guys in the kitchen! WHEW! What a relief!
Oh yeah, never fear; in my restaurant years we ALWAYS ate anything that was sent back and still edible! :rotfl:

My new friend Rebecca and I were riveted and enchanted by all we saw:

:lmao:

I love this pictorial tradition of yours! :thumbsup2 :rotfl:

Holy Smokes! I was wayyyy behind in your trip report because you move fast girl! We went camping this weekend and I am just now catching up on all my trip reports. You guys look like soooo much fun to spend a day at Disney with. Too bad, you aren't going in August so we could meet up.

This trip report has been murder on my waist line. I've scarfed down two bowls of cookies and cream ice cream for this session. I'm gonna need you to hurry this one up.:thumbsup2
