Hi everyone, the wife and I signed our offer on our first 160 point contract last week on April 28 and all we asked for when we faxed it back in was an e-mail conformation saying they got our offer and when do they think they would send it in to the ROFR dept. We have e-mailed them two more times since then and still no response?? Is this normal? :confused3 :confused3

I've been in touch with a couple of their folks, late last week, and today, so I know their e-mail is working. You might want to just give them a call.

Well, I don't really know what to say about that. Answering e-mails can be just as vital of a communication tool as the phone can be. E-mails shouldn't be ignored in our opinion.

They have been really quick with their replies to my questions via email in my dealings with them. Maybe the person you are dealing with has been out of the office- I whould give them a call.

Why was this thread moved into dvc operations? The front page specifically says DVC members sharing information. I am not a DVC member yet and I'm not sharing information. This definitely qualifies as Mousecellaneous because its DVC speculation related is it not????

Just call them. I asked the same exact thing when I faxed my info back over. They didn't call me back right away and ended up having to confirm with Kelly in the Contracts department that they received it.

I'm starting to believe "GMAC Service" is an oxymoron.

I had communication issues with GMAC when I was purchasing. They never called me or emailed me any updates and felt somewhat neglected. I was buying an OKW 230 pts at $69 pp. It turned out Disney bought back the package, so I had to start over. I called TSS and they had a package that was perfect, so I bought it (230 OKW at $71). From the get go they had great communication, great email updates and everything went smooth and easy. I felt great dealing with TSS and now I am the proud member of an OKW package. Thanks Timeshare Store. Jerry was my agent.

We are using Gmac...and they respond to our emails quickly. One day my emails were not being answered so I called and she was home sick for the day. The following day she called me. The only hold up so far has been Disney with the estoppel stuff. Gmac has been fast and great with everything else!

I totally agree! The service we have received from GMAC has been super. Our calls and emails have always been returned within 24 hours. I figure that I am obviously not their only client and knew going in that this was a long process. I actually called another reseller and was not impressed with them. I don't think the contract we were looking for was big enough for them to "waste" their time. I never got that impression from GMAC. I can tell you that they have added new people in the last 6-8 months, from what I understand, to help better handle the increased work load.

If you are concerned, I would call them. Just tell them that you are just checking in to see that things are on track. NBD. I wouldn't even hesitate. I would rather be the voice on the other end of the phone than an address on an email. But that's just me.

We used GMAC for two resale purchases. I found their communication to be lacking at certain times. However, I found that as a buyer, their price points were lower and the contracts seemed more negotiable. (e.g. buyer paid closing costs and portions of dues).

Also while we were daudling on re-negotiating an offer on a property the realtor called me after about 4 weeks and said - 'the owner wants a re-offer or they will put it back on the market". I said back to her - Are you guys certifiable? If I was the owner you guys would be gone...to wait for weeks and say the property was unavailable when no money or contract had passed hands? Now, of course, she may have just been saying that to get us going...

Regardless, I liked the prices and many of the contracts were loaded so we went with GMAC.

Their website is poor in that it does not tell the particulars (points avail, use year, etc...) requiring a phone call if you are interested. :goodvibes

Hmm, interesting thoughts everyone. I really would rather personally deal through e-mail because you are not taking up someones time in an office when they may be busy doing something else at the time. Plus, I don't like talking on the phone because you can't take your time and think about what you really need to say.

Doesn't ROFR like loaded contracts though Terri2007? Wouldn't that type of contract be more desireable for them to keep and not let it pass?

I have purchased through GMAC twice and have had good service. :thumbsup2

Personally, while I prefer e-mail, too, I find my rep is really good about answering the phone and/or returning calls. Most of the time, I was able to reach her right away when I called. Instant gratification!!! :lmao:

Good luck! I know it's frustrating when you want information and can't get it. :sad2:

I am currently buying through GMAC. My offer was submitted to Disney on 4/2/08, and I didn't hear anything so I emailed them this week. GMAC followed up with Disney and learned my paperwork was sent directly to the title company. I read here Disney has 30 days to decide to approve or refuse. Last week I emailed them & didn't hear back, so I emailed them again this week. I would have called if I didn't hear back this week. I know people are busy in the office, but they are working for you and should provide you good service via any channel.

There honestly doesn't seem to be any consistency with what DIS buys back and what they don't. Price is a factor and probably their inventory. If DIS has a bunch of people wait-listed to purchase, I'm sure they are seeking contracts to buy back. There's probably some formula or spreadsheet they use to determine what to buy back (e.g., current inventory/wait-listed resort, high demand UY, price per point too low, etc.). But again, it's not a cookie cutter formula, or someone on these boards would have figured it out!!! Guaranteed!!! :thumbsup2

We were submitted to Disney on 3/14, passed on 3/25, and we've still yet to close. GMAC had a miscommunication problem and thus our agent didn't even know we passed until 4/6 or so. Now we're not getting called back about closing. I don't know what is going on over there, but I know we aren't a priority.

I could say more, but I'll just leave it at that and let you decide whether to buy from them =).
