Gluten Intolerance

I have a freind whose son suffers from Gluten Intolerance. Can anyone point me in the right direction on where I can look up information about dining at WDW and I suppose travel anywhere...

Hi. I'm not sure if you know this but www.allearsnet.com has a list of all the menus in disney, restaurants and counter service (and there may be some outside of disney too, but not sure on that). Your friend could probably start there and see whats best for her son. I have special dietary needs as well so before I make priority seating I am checking the menus to see if there is anything I could eat at the restaurant. Hope this helps!

When you check out the allearsnet.com site for the menus there is a listing for special diet needs there and the one listed for celiac sprue give suggestions about where to eat and how to let disney know that one of the people has a food allergy and they will be glad to help you when you make the seating. In some cases the chef on duty has been known to come out and talk to the the person with the allergy to go over the menu for things that they can eat,my mother has this allergy and that was her experience. Disney is willing to help cater food to make the experience enjoyable to everyone

DH and DS are celiac. So gluten is OUT, all forms, wheat, barley, oats, rye. WDW is SUPER about preparing meals for dietary restrictions. Make your PS's after checking AllEarsnet.com. When making the ressie mention gluten intol. the CM will note it on your PS and give you a phone # to call the chef 7d before trip. A few days ago the chef from Ohana called to talk to my DH. I had left a mess. for him as last yr my DH did have his only boring meal at the Poly's Luau, plain rice, plain chicken, people took his fruit. Just plain. The chef will make him a fab meal this yr. All other meals were great. We ate at SciFi, 50's Prime Time, Teppenyaki, Calif. Grille, Crystal Palace, Boma (they are just sooooooo helpful), Tuskerhaus, Puck;s cafe,etc. Never a prob at any (except Luau). Have a fine time.
