Hi there,
Does anyone know what is available at Teppan Edo that’s gluten and dairy free? It’s our first time to wdw with allergies and I can’t find any allergy menus for there. Do they have any noodles/ rice alternatives?
Thank you so much!

I thought rice is gluten free.
I believe that soy sauce is more trouble than rice.
I don't know about the noodles.

Ah yes sorry, I was wondering whether they have rice noodles as an alternative. It looks like it might just be plain rice, which is fine if I prepare the person in our party!

They aren’t a Disney operated restaurant so they don't have allergy menus. They had GF soy sauce last time I went and will either cook the allergy food first or in the back. I don’t recall GF noodles but they could do GF/DF rice.

They don’t have GF noodles. As PP said, they will cook your food separately and offer GF soy sauce. They will steer you away from the salad dressing as well since it has a bit of soy sauce in the mix as well. They’re really good with allergies there.

My brother has celiac and is extremely gluten sensitive. He didn’t have any issues at Teppan Edo, but I don’t think we’ll ever go back. It’s just a regular hibachi meal for gluten-eating guests. The gluten-free food is prepared and served totally separately, but it seemed really unexciting. He enjoyed other GF TS meals much more!

What were some of his favorite gf places/meals at Disney? I'm trying to plan for a friend traveling with me in May.
I’ll preface this with a few context points: he’s what you’d call a “meat and potatoes” person (likes other things, but that’s his favorite type of food), and he’s a minor (so some of these are character meals you may/may not be interested in):

For TS:
‘Ohana
Garden Grill
1900 Park Faire (their favorite character meal; they brought him food from the kitchen so we wouldn’t have to worry about cross contamination on the buffet line).
Liberty Tree Tavern (we all opted for GF food here just to eliminate cross-contamination at the table, and I preferred the GF food to the non-GF we’ve had there).

For QS:
Satuli Canteen
Be Our Guest
Sunshine Seasons
Flame Tree Barbecue

Happy to answer any questions you have! Relax and enjoy your trip! Disney is the one place we can travel where we just don’t have to worry about food being an issue for him. The one caveat to that is I’d do a bit of research on which restaurants are not Disney-owned (like Teppan Edo, as a PP mentioned), and how they handle food allergies. Some of the non-Disney owned restaurants are better than others.

I haven't been to Teppan Edo, but the options at Tokyo Dining were extremely bland, boring, and disappointing.

I am also gluten-free and dairy-free and would also recommend:
Sanaa
Raglan Road
The Boathouse
Jungle Skipper Canteen
50s Prime Time (especially if you contact special diets in advance and arrange for gf/df fried chicken!!!!)
Sci-Fi Dine-In
Jiko
