Has anyone had success finding gluten free options in Tortola? And a follow up to that is if we bring packaged food off the ship for my son does it need to be sealed, individual packages? Or can I bring an open bag of pretzles?

To take any food off (for those ports that allow it), it must be sealed, but not necessarily individual servings.

Tortola is a small island with a small town vibe, so don't expect lots of restaurants catering to different palates and food restrictions. In addition, American fast food chains are banned from the island. My son is gf, & we ate a big breakfast before leaving the ship, and ate lunch after getting back on. Didn't see a lot of restaurant options during our island tour.

That is what I was thinking we are going to end up doing. And bringing some snacks to hold him over. We have not cruised since he was diagnosed with his wheat allergy so much more to think about this time.

Our excursion in Tortola was a little under 4 hours. We ate a big breakfast before leaving the ship. Drinks were provided on our excursion. We ate lunch as soon as we were back on the ship. Our kids are 6 & 8. But yes, anything sealed as a snack can come off the ship!
